BYD South Africa is inviting motorists nationwide to experience the future of driving at its exciting Drive the Dream weekend, taking place on 31 January 2026 at all participating BYD dealerships across the country. This one-day open house brings the thrill of new energy vehicles (NEVs) and hybrids directly to customers, offering a hands-on introduction to BYD’s rapidly growing line-up.
Designed to create awareness and build confidence in electric and hybrid mobility, the Drive the Dream event gives South Africans the opportunity to discover BYD’s standout performance, efficiency, and cutting-edge technology firsthand. Visitors can book test drives in an impressive range of models, including 2026 Car of the Year semi-finalists such as the BYD Shark 6 — the brand’s powerful new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) double-cab bakkie — and the Dolphin Surf, currently South Africa’s most affordable fully electric vehicle. The recently launched Sealion 5 hybrid SUV will also be available for test drives.
