2026 SA Motocross Nationals Round 3 Results Report – Zone 7
Round 3 of the South African National Motocross Championship delivered one of the most thrilling race weekends of the year as the series hit the sandy circuit of Zone 7 MX Track in Cape Town.
With the championship already heating up after two competitive rounds, Zone 7 proved to be the ultimate test. Deep sand, coastal wind, and constantly changing lines pushed riders to their limits — and the results showed just how tight the 2026 title race has become.
MX1: Smith Strikes Back
After losing out in Round 2, Slade Smith returned to the top step in MX1 with a commanding victory. His win at Zone 7 puts him right back into the championship fight after opening the season strong in Round 1.
Cameron Durow, who won Round 2, finished second this time, maintaining consistency and keeping the pressure on. Jayden Proctor continued his run of podium finishes, making him one of the most consistent riders across all three rounds.
MX2: Trey Cox in Control
Trey Cox continued his impressive form by taking another MX2 victory, solidifying himself as a serious title contender. With strong results in both Round 2 and Round 3, Cox is building valuable momentum heading into the next phase of the championship.
Slade Smith and Cameron Durow rounded out the MX2 podium, highlighting their versatility across multiple classes.
MX3 & Ladies: New Winners Emerge
In MX3, Jan Ryan claimed victory, shaking up the standings after Brandon Wheeler’s dominance in Rounds 1 and 2. Wheeler still managed a strong second-place finish, ensuring he remains firmly in the championship mix.
The Ladies class saw a major shift, with Leah Heygate taking the win ahead of previous double winner Mackenzie Bam. This result significantly tightens the title race in the women’s division.
