Godziek and Nussbaumer Rule Rhapsody at Whistler

2026 Crankworx Whistler Rhapsody Slopestyle

Godziek and Nussbaumer Master Rhapsody as Crankworx Whistler Ends with a Bang

The final day of Crankworx Whistler 2026 delivered exactly what fans expected—high-risk riding, technical brilliance and championship pressure all rolled into one unforgettable Slopestyle showdown.

With the Slopestyle Super League (SSL) Regular Season coming to an end, the newly designed Rhapsody course became the final opportunity for riders to secure valuable points before the playoff field was locked in. Every trick mattered. Every landing counted.

The result was one of the most intense contests of the season, with David Godziek and Johanna Nussbaumer rising above the rest to close out the festival in style.

A Course That Demanded Perfection

Unlike previous editions, the redesigned Rhapsody course rewarded riders capable of linking massive tricks together without sacrificing speed or flow.

Large wooden features, precision landings and the iconic finishing drop forced competitors to balance creativity with consistency. In an event where a single mistake could erase months of work, riders needed complete confidence from start to finish.

That pressure was amplified by the SSL standings, with playoff positions hanging in the balance.

Joanna Nussbaumer

Nussbaumer Continues Her Rise

Johanna Nussbaumer‘s incredible 2026 season continued with another career-defining performance.

The 19-year-old German rider, already celebrating her maiden Crankworx Diamond victory earlier this year in Rotorua, delivered a near-flawless opening run that immediately set the benchmark.

Her winning line featured a spectacular backflip double bar spin, followed by a suicide no-hander, a tuck no-hander to bar spin, before finishing with a stylish toboggan off the whale tail.

The judges rewarded the run with an impressive 91.25 points, securing another Diamond victory and confirming Nussbaumer as one of the sport’s brightest emerging stars.

American veteran Shealen Reno showcased her trademark style and experience to finish second on 84.00 points, while Canadian youngster Zoe Witwicki completed an inspirational podium in third.

Witwicki’s achievement was particularly remarkable after entering the competition as an alternate and only gaining access to the full course on the morning of the event.

Women’s Rhapsody Slopestyle Results

  1. Johanna Nussbaumer (GER) – 91.25
  2. Shealen Reno (USA) – 84.00
  3. Zoe Witwicki (CAN) – 75.75

Godziek Holds His Nerve

On the men’s side, the pressure couldn’t have been higher.

Australia’s Dane Folpp had already thrown down a spectacular run worth 92.50 points, putting the entire field on notice during his first Diamond-level season.

Then came David Godziek.

The reigning SSL points leader attacked the course with the confidence of a rider fully aware of what was at stake.

His run combined a cash roll tail whip, a triple tail whip on the cannon log, a massive no-handed 1080, before finishing with a perfectly executed bar-spin backflip off the Rhapsody drop.

The run earned 94.50 points—just enough to edge Folpp by two points in one of the closest Slopestyle finals of the season.

Dawid Godziek

French rider Tim Bringer, last year’s Slopestyle World Champion, rounded out the podium after another polished performance in only his second SSL appearance of 2026.

Men’s Rhapsody Slopestyle Results

  1. David Godziek (POL) – 94.50
  2. Dane Folpp (AUS) – 92.50
  3. Tim Bringer (FRA) – 89.75

Momentum Builds Towards the SSL Playoffs

The Whistler finale wasn’t simply another Crankworx event—it marked the end of the SSL Regular Season and set the stage for the championship fight still to come.

Godziek leaves Whistler carrying significant momentum after once again proving why consistency remains one of the most valuable assets in elite slopestyle. Meanwhile, Nussbaumer’s rapid rise continues to reshape the women’s competition, with the young German now firmly established among the discipline’s elite.

With the playoff field now confirmed, the season enters its most important chapter. If Whistler proved anything, it’s that margins at the top are becoming smaller, the tricks are becoming bigger, and the battle for the SSL title is only just beginning.
