September 27, 2025 @ 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
The wait is over — the date is locked in! South Africa’s premier skateboarding competition, the Street Lines Skate Tournament, is back for its highly anticipated fifth edition. Taking place on 27 September 2025 at the legendary Thrashers Skatepark in Pretoria, this year promises an explosive showcase of skill, creativity, and raw skateboarding culture.
Presented by LW Mag and Dragon Energy Drink, in association with Converse Cons, Garmin, Monster Products, Dickies, and Insta360, the 2025 edition is set to deliver another unforgettable chapter in SA skateboarding.
The Stage is Set at Thrashers Skatepark
Thrashers Skatepark offers a stacked setup with diverse obstacles, making it the perfect platform for skaters to push their limits. Athletes from across the country will face off in the Men’s and Women’s Divisions, while rising stars will get the chance to shine and prove themselves among the nation’s best.
The Competition Format
The tournament kicks off with qualifying rounds where judges will score based on use-of-park, variety, style, and technical tricks. Only the top riders will advance to the finals, where the stakes couldn’t be higher — a R60,000 prize purse plus prizes from official partners are on the line.
Closing the event, the Best Trick contest will have the crowd on its feet, with the winner taking home an Insta360 X4 360º action camera.
Growing SA’s Skate Culture
“We’re thrilled to be back with this year’s tournament — always a standout on our annual calendar. The growth and progression of skateboarding locally over the past few years has been incredible, and being able to add this event to the contest calendar and provide a platform for the country’s top athletes to showcase their skills is something we’re extremely proud of. We can’t wait to see the action unfold on 27 September and crown the 2025 Street Lines champions.”
Street Lines organiser, Ryan van der Spuy, shared his excitement:
