South Africa‘s drag racing community is gearing up for one of the country’s most anticipated motorsport weekends as Saldanha Drags 2026 – The No Excuses Tour roars into Saldanha Airfield on 4 and 5 September 2026. Promising two adrenaline-fuelled days of high-speed action, the annual racing festival is set to bring together the nation’s quickest cars, fastest bikes and fearless competitors.
The event kicks off on Friday, 4 September, with spectacular quarter-mile drag racing under the lights, giving fans the perfect introduction to a weekend dedicated to speed, power and precision. As engines fire up and tyres smoke across the strip, spectators can expect an electric atmosphere from the moment the gates open at 5:00 PM.
The excitement continues on Saturday, 5 September, with intense 800-metre top-end battles, where South Africa‘s toughest builds and most skilled drivers and riders will push their machines to the limit. With everything on the line, competitors will battle for the coveted titles of Fastest Car and Fastest Bike, earning the right to be crowned the Kings of Saldanha.
This year’s edition embraces the bold theme “Ride for Glory – The No Excuses Tour,” challenging racers to leave every excuse behind and prove themselves on one of the country’s most exciting drag racing strips.
Spectators can witness everything from street-inspired performance cars to purpose-built drag machines and high-performance motorcycles as they chase personal bests and ultimate bragging rights.
Admission remains affordable, with adult tickets priced at R150 and children under 12 paying R50, with tickets available at the gate throughout the weekend.
Drivers and riders eager to compete can secure their place through online registration only. Entry fees are R850 for the 800m category and R450 for the 400m category.
With a prepared strip, fierce competition, roaring engines and thousands of horsepower ready to be unleashed, Saldanha Drags 2026 promises another unforgettable celebration of South African motorsport.
