November 21, 2024 - November 24, 2024

Challenge

  • Unlike previous editions which were held on the northern island of Hokkaido, the asphalt event will be based in Nagoya, on the country’s main island of Honshu.
  • This will allow demanding special stages in the mountain regions of Aichi and Gifu, boasting a population of approximately nine million people and about three hours’ drive from capital city Tokyo.

Service Park

  • Based in the Toyota Stadium in Toyota, Aichi, Japan.

Event History

  • Rally Japan first featured in the WRC in 2004 and was held, up until 2007, in Hokkaido’s Tokachi-Obihiro area. In 2008 and 2010 (there was no rally in 2009) the event was based in Central Hokkaido, with Sapporo as the host town.
  • Subaru’s Peter Solberg won the inaugural rally in 2004. In 2005, the winner was Peugeot’s Marcus Grönholm, and the 2006 winner was Sébastien Loeb, with Citroën. Mikko Hirvonen achieved consecutive wins in 2007 and 2008 before Sébastien Ogier won the last edition in 2010.
