Ballito Open 25: Back and Bigger Than Ever This Winter
Back by popular demand, the Ballito Open 25 presented by Flojos is set to ignite the shores of Willard Beach from 27–29 June, marking its thrilling return for the second consecutive year. This time, the stakes are even higher as the event has been officially upgraded from a QS 1,000 to a QS 2,000-ranked competition – promising more points, bigger prize purses, and world-class surfing action.
The upgrade has solidified the Ballito Open’s place as a must-attend contest on the World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series calendar. With higher rankings and rewards on offer, the event is expected to draw a larger international field of elite athletes ready to push the limits in both the Men’s and Women’s divisions.
Last year’s event saw Luke Thompson (RSA) and Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) take home the titles – and the 2025 edition will no doubt offer another fierce battle for top honors as rising stars and seasoned pros carve their way toward glory.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Ballito’s iconic coastline, fans can look forward to three days of non-stop surfing, beach culture, and community energy – all part of the Ballito Pro festival week.
