September 26 @ 10:00 am – 10:00 pm
The engines will be loud, the crews will be out in force and the spinning community will have another major date on its calendar when Katra and Friends JHB returns to The Rock Raceway in Brakpan on September 26, 2026.
Now in its second annual Johannesburg edition, the event is positioning itself as more than a day at the raceway. From 10:00 to 22:00, Katra and Friends JHB will bring together spinning personalities, teams, music and spectators for a 12-hour celebration built around community and South African car culture.

Where Spinning Meets Community
Spinning has developed into one of South Africa‘s most recognisable grassroots automotive cultures, with its own personalities, crews, sounds and fan base.
Katra and Friends JHB taps directly into that ecosystem.
The event’s appeal lies in the gathering itself: experienced fans meeting newcomers, crews showcasing their identity and spectators getting close to the personalities who keep the scene moving.
It’s a celebration of the people behind the cars as much as the cars themselves.
And with the event running for 12 hours, there is plenty of room for the atmosphere to evolve throughout the day.
The Rock Raceway Sets the Stage
The choice of The Rock Raceway in Brakpan gives the event an unmistakably motorsport-driven backdrop.
Located on Main Reef Road in the Gov Gold Mine Areas, the venue provides the kind of setting that naturally complements a gathering centred around cars, driving culture and high-energy entertainment.
For spectators, that combination creates an experience that extends beyond simply watching the action.
The raceway becomes a social hub where crews, friends and fans can spend the day together while soaking up the atmosphere surrounding one of South Africa‘s most distinctive automotive subcultures.
A Heavy Line-Up of Spinning Names
The 2026 edition features an extensive list of personalities, crews and performers from across the scene.

Among those listed are Katra, Kutja, Mano, Renzo, Zameer, Lockdiff, Wafeeq, Veejaro, Prince Magesh Jnr, Team Dulle, Msweswe, Ziko, Salim, Aadam, Skopas, Team APS, Gamfu, Sthwathwa and Eddie Boy.
The line-up also includes Pillarsoul, Muzi, Isla Bonita, Iki, Shazo, Mohlala Brothers, Feroz, Rio, Tino (Megatron) Shakes, Baatile BGB, Babz Troubles, Samo, Thiren, Vodie, Team Kati, Dino Bravo, Aaron and Siku Na Siku.

MCs Dre, Mr President and Sipheshihle Vazi are also set to help drive the atmosphere throughout the day.
Building an Annual Tradition
The significance of the second edition is perhaps bigger than the event itself.
For spinning culture, recurring gatherings create opportunities for communities to connect, crews to build relationships and younger fans to find their place within the scene.
Katra and Friends JHB is attempting to turn a single-day gathering into an annual fixture.
That matters because South Africa‘s automotive culture continues to thrive through events where enthusiasts can experience the personalities, cars and community up close.
The formula here is straightforward: bring the people together, put them in an iconic motorsport environment and give them an entire day to celebrate the culture.
Cooler boxes are also welcome, adding another layer to what is being positioned as a day-long social experience.
For Johannesburg’s spinning community, the message is simple: September 26 is about cars, crews, music, friendship and the culture that connects them all.
