Killarney Motor Show 2026: Cars, Stunts and BMX

November 1 @ 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Cape Town‘s motoring culture is getting ready for a full-throttle day as the Killarney Motor Show 2026 returns on Sunday, 1 November, bringing together performance cars, classic machines, drifting, off-road action and a fresh dose of skateboarding and BMX energy.

Hosted at Killarney International Raceway, the ninth edition of the Western Cape‘s major motor show promises more than a traditional display of vehicles. With interactive experiences, live entertainment and the return of Ramp Rodeo, the event brings different corners of the action sports community together for a day built around speed, skill and mechanical passion.

For petrolheads, families and action sports fans, the appeal lies in the variety: one venue, multiple disciplines and plenty of reasons to keep moving between the displays and the action.

From Drift Cars to BMX: A Broader Action Sports Experience

The Killarney Motor Show has long celebrated the vehicles and people behind South Africa‘s motoring culture. From modern performance cars and motorcycles to restored classics, racing machines and exotic marques, the event offers visitors a chance to experience automotive history and contemporary car culture up close.

But the 2026 programme also looks beyond four wheels.

Ramp Rodeo is back, bringing skateboarding and BMX into the mix, fuelled by Monster Energy and hosted by Team OspEvents Co. With R20,000 in stunt prize money up for grabs, the action sports addition gives riders another reason to step into the spotlight.

Skateboarding and BMX demand a different kind of precision from motorsport, but the connection is easy to recognise. Both reward commitment, technical control, repetition and the ability to perform under pressure.

For spectators, the combination creates an opportunity to experience different expressions of action sports in one setting. For the wider scene, it places BMX and skateboarding alongside an established motorsport gathering, introducing these disciplines to audiences who might not ordinarily follow them.

More Than a Static Car Display

One of the show’s biggest attractions is the opportunity to get closer to the action.

Visitors can watch drifting and spinning demonstrations, experience off-road driving displays and explore vehicles ranging from contemporary exotics to carefully maintained classics. Passenger rides in drift cars and 4×4 vehicles offer an opportunity to experience the action from inside the vehicle rather than from behind the barriers.

Public karting is also on the programme, with visitors able to take to Killarney’s one-kilometre karting circuit.

The show will feature more than 2,000 displays, vendors and interactive experiences, according to the organisers. Hundreds of market stalls will offer motoring accessories and memorabilia, while the paddock behind the Clubhouse is expected to showcase exotic vehicles, race cars and restored family cars.

The real attraction is the range of experiences, not just the machines on display. Visitors can move between automotive heritage, performance demonstrations, hands-on activities and live entertainment throughout the day.

Preserving Car Culture for the Next Generation

Classic vehicles are more than nostalgic objects. They tell stories about engineering, design and the changing relationship between South Africans and their cars.

At Killarney, visitors can get close to historic vehicles, many of which arrive under their own power. That makes the experience more immediate than looking at photographs or reading about automotive history.

The same principle applies to action sports. Seeing a BMX rider execute a difficult trick or watching a skateboarder commit to a demanding manoeuvre can offer younger spectators a direct introduction to the skill and preparation behind the performance.

Bringing these experiences together creates space for different generations to connect over shared interests, whether that means appreciating a restored classic, learning about motorsport or discovering a new action sports discipline.

The event also caters to families, with fairground rides, food and beverages, live entertainment and free entry for children under 12.
