Entries Open as SA National MX Championship Heads to Rover MX Club for Round 5
The battle for the 2026 title continues as entries officially open for Round 5 of the SA National Motocross Championship, with the championship heading to the legendary Rover MX Club in Gqeberha on 18 July.
Following a dramatic Round 4 at BORC MX Track in Bloemfontein, South Africa‘s top motocross riders now prepare for one of the toughest tests of the season. The deep, physical sand of Rover MX Club has earned a reputation as one of the most demanding circuits on the national calendar, where endurance, technique, and consistency often prove just as important as outright speed.
A Crucial Mid-Season Challenge
With the championship entering its latter stages, every race becomes increasingly important. Valuable championship points are on offer, and riders can ill afford mistakes as the fight for the coveted 2026 #1 plate intensifies.
The transition from Bloemfontein’s hard-packed terrain to the challenging sand of Gqeberha will require teams to make significant setup adjustments. Suspension settings, tyre choice, and rider fitness will all play a key role in determining who leaves the Eastern Cape with maximum points.
From the elite MX1 and MX2 categories to the ever-impressive junior classes, spectators can expect another full day of spectacular motocross racing.
