The Roof of Africa Returns as the Grand Finale of the Hard Enduro World Championship Series

November 20 November 22

The legendary Roof of Africa, long celebrated as one of the world’s most grueling offroad motorcycle races, has officially joined the Hard Enduro World Championship (HEWC) for the very first time. Taking place from 20 to 22 November 2025, with Registration and Documentation on 19 November, this momentous inclusion sees the “Mother of Hard Enduro” elevated to the final and potentially decisive round of the global series.

Held in the breathtaking Maloti Mountains of Lesotho, the Roof’s addition to the HEWC calendar will not only cement its reputation among the toughest races in the world, but also shine a bright international spotlight on the country. The anticipated influx of competitors, teams, and fans will deliver a powerful boost to tourism and contribute to local economic development across Lesotho and the Southern African region.

A New Era of Professionalism and Prestige

This year’s edition will be spearheaded by a refined event leadership team, blending local expertise and international hard enduro experience. Event Director Ross Whitehead shared that, building on last year’s groundwork, the team has created a strengthened operational strategy to ensure the 2025 Roof surpasses expectations.

“Our focus is on creating an elevated experience for every Roof competitor, support crew, partners, and spectators alike,”.

The 2025 Roof will feature four classes – Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Iron – each with dedicated route managers to ensure an enhanced and meticulously crafted rider experience.

Global Talent Descends on Lesotho

The final round promises a star-studded rider lineup, with top contenders in the Gold Class including:
