XGL Summer Draft
The road to the inaugural 2026 X Games League (XGL) season officially begins with the highly anticipated XGL Summer Draft, a landmark moment that introduces a new team-based era in action sports. For the first time in X Games history, elite skateboard and BMX athletes will be drafted into official XClubs, setting the competitive framework for the upcoming Summer League.
Scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 5, at Cosm in Los Angeles, the XGL Summer Draft will bring together league officials, team representatives, and fans to witness the formation of the four inaugural XClubs. Each club will build a roster of ten world-class male and female athletes, selected from a global pool of more than 150 elite skateboarders and BMX riders.
The Draft represents a fundamental shift in how action sports are organized and experienced. Rather than competing solely as individuals, athletes will now represent their respective XClubs, earning points collectively across multiple disciplines throughout the season. These points will ultimately determine standings and qualification heading into the championship event at the end of the 2026 XGL Summer Season.
Fans around the world will be able to follow the Draft live, with the event streaming on ESPN+ via the ESPN App and below from 4:30–6:30 a.m. CAT. The broadcast will offer behind-the-scenes access, expert commentary, and real-time reactions as teams are assembled and rivalries begin to take shape.
As anticipation builds toward the first Summer League stop in Sacramento and the return of X Games to Japan, the XGL Summer Draft serves as the official starting line for the league’s debut season. It is here that strategies are formed, stars are aligned, and the future of X Games competition begins.
With global attention and historic implications, the XGL Summer Draft is more than a selection process—it’s the foundation of a bold new chapter in action sports.
