SUMMARY:Pro Motocross Championship 2024 – IRONMAN NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Est: 2014 \nWelcome to the 11th Annual Ironman National. This year’s Ironman National will serve as the season finale of the 2024 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. \nTRACK PROFILE\nCruising up to the Ironman National\, not far from the motorsports mecca of Indianapolis\, Indiana\, you’ll see picturesque views of small town America. The late summer date produces porch weather\, and that draws all the locals who marvel at the professional cavalcade that has rolled into their town. You get a sense that this race offers up everything you want in a big-time motocross race….well\, except one thing. The land surrounding the track looks flat. Where are the hills? Where’s the elevation change? Can this possibly work? \nYou park your crew in the huge flat field—perfect for camping and pitting\, and head out to check out the big rigs in the easily accessible pro pits. Then you walk toward the track and suddenly something happens: the ground opens up\, drops down\, and practically swallows the race track whole. The Ironman Raceway track doesn’t just offer up elevation change\, it offers up some of the biggest\, steepest combinations of jumps and hills in the entire series\, including Godzilla\, a massive uphill jump. \nYou’ve already sensed that the rest of the track is perfect: the dirt\, the obstacles\, the sightlines. Add in those hills\, and you’ve got pure motocross. By the end of the day that deep soil grows hugely rough and rutted\, and only those wise in old-school motocross techniques like\, standing up and changing lines\, and riding smarter not harder\, can succeed. \nThis is Motocross\, and we’re back at the racetrack. DESCRIPTION:Est: 1989 \nWelcome to the 35th running of the Budds Creek National. This year’s Budds Creek National will serve as round 10 of the 2024 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. \nTrack Profile\nWhile serious business takes place a half hour away in Washington\, D.C.\, the area around Budds Creek MX is pure relaxation. The nearby Chesapeake Bay draws travelers of all kinds\, and perfect summer weather sets the Pro National date as the right time to explore the area. \nBut while the track itself looks like pure fun\, it gets brutally serious at the top level of AMA Pro Motocross. Perhaps fitting for a track so close to the nation’s capital\, Budds Creek offers classic American Motocross\, with the perfect combination of hills\, jumps\, corners and deep\, tacky soil. The racing usually stays close\, as passes come down to who can brake a little harder into a turn\, or scrub a little lower over a jump. SUMMARY:Pro Motocross Championship 2024 – UNADILLA NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Est: 1972 \nWelcome to the Unadilla National in New Berlin\, NY. This year’s Unadilla National will mark round nine of the 2024 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. \nTrack Profile\nUnadilla Motocross began racing in 1969 after its founder\, Ward Robinson\, fell in love with dirt bike racing after seeing a hare scrambles event. Would you believe that the infamous Unadilla track layout was actually the second choice? The original pro track layout was planned to be on the footprint of today’s amateur track U2\, however\, logistical concerns turned eyes and designs toward what was to become known simply as UNADILLA. Since its beginnings\, Unadilla has hosted Trans-AMA (1970-1978)\, Trans-USA (1979-1981)\, the 250cc USGP (1978-1992)\, and the first ever MX des Nations in the United States (1987)\, and a round of the US Nationals since 1989. Unadilla’s history is full of epic battles\, which make sense once you consider that every significant racer in Motocross’ history has challenged Unadilla over the years. Unadilla is now second generation family owned and includes a round of the ATV Nationals\, a round of the GNCC series\, a vintage racing weekend (MX Rewind)\, and several amateur events during the racing season. \nUtilizing a former dairy farm\, Unadilla was laid out to be European in nature. The track’s rolling natural terrain layout sprawls out over 55 acres of classic New York countryside. While many of the original track features remain (Gravity Cavity\, The Wall)\, Unadilla has evolved over the years to respond to the changes within the sport. The origin of Skyshot\, which was added to capitalize on racers’ and bikes’  abilities to launch over 150’ while being over 30’ in the air\, actually came from an amateur race. Due to extremely muddy conditions\, racers were cutting the original track and had made a line\, which allowed them to jump over the corner and nearly over the top of the hill. That gave second generation Robinson\, Greg\, an idea for a track change. Much to the chagrin of elder Robinson\, Ward\, Skyshot was added the following year. Little did they know that this jump would become one of the most iconic and most photographed jumps on the circuit. Three new sections and a few track reworks have been since added to enhance both racing and spectator experiences. Our newest track section brings the action closer to the crowds that line the hills of Gravity Cavity\, and tunnels now allow spectators to navigate more quickly from one favorite section to another. No matter where you like to view the racing action from\, we hope you will pull up to your favorite spot and enjoy another great day of racing at Unadilla. \nWhile Unadilla has been and will always be about the Pro National Motocross racing\, did you know that a big part of this historic facility is now rooted in amateur racing? Starting in 1993\, and on the infamous pro track\, Unadilla jumped head first into amateur racing. That year saw one of the largest amateur races in AMA history with over 1800 entries\, followed by the largest 125 AMA National with 290+ entries\, and if that weren’t enough\, it was also the largest 250 National ever with 290+ entries. Over the next six years\, nearly 10\,000 riders got to experience the thrill of competing on the famed Unadilla soil. However\, by the end of the July 1999 Pro National\, there wasn’t much of that famed soil left those years of amateur racing had destroyed this once famed facility. The Robinson family realized that a decision had to be made either run amateur races\, or quit amateur racing and focus on the Pro National Motocross. However\, why not do both? In the fall of 1999\, and with the help of a familiar face\, Doug Henry\, U2 was born. By the beginning of the 2000 racing season\, the track was up and running\, and more importantly\, it was winning fans who felt the track was more suited to the amateur rider. \nOne common question is where the name Unadilla comes from. The track is located in the Unadilla River Valley\, so the original name of the facility was The Unadilla Valley Sports Center. Over time\, the track would become known as just Unadilla. However\, the actual name “Unadilla” is an Iroquois name which means “place of meeting.” ƒ \nAmenities\n\nSpectator Camping\nFree Motorcycle Parking and Gear/Helmet Check\nGrandstand seating\nOpen Air Festival seating\nNearly 100% track Viewing from a variety of vantage points\nCovered Super Ticket Viewing Area with live timing and scoring\, private restrooms\, and catering\nHandicap Viewing Area\nLarge interactive Sponsor Village\nState-of-the-art sound system\nEvent Simulcast on FM Radio\nFood and Soft Drink Concessions\nPermanent Restroom facilities\nBaby Changing Station\nHandicap Viewing Area\nShaded Picnic Areas\nPro Pit Access on Saturday morning\nVIP Parking\nHandicap Parking\nEasy Entry/Exit\nHand Wash Stations\n\nGeneral Information\n\nGates closed Midnight to 6 am daily – please plan accordingly\nNo drones allowed on property \nNo pit vehicles. SUMMARY:Pro Motocross Championship 2024 – WASHOUGAL NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Est: 1980 \nWelcome to the Washougal National in Washougal\, WA. This legendary race marks Round eight of the 2024 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. \nTrack Profile\nWashougal MX Park opened in April of 1972 and has hosted a round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship every year but once since 1980 (the year of the Mount St. Helens volcano eruption\, mere miles away). Washougal is known as one of the most scenic circuits in the entire sport\, and many manufacturers and sponsors use the facility for television commercials and photo shoots. The track itself is located in the foothills of southwest Washington\, amid a forest of fir trees near the Washougal River\, with the beautiful Columbia River at the bottom of the mountain. It’s an old-school motocross facility where spectators can enjoy the sights and sounds of racing up close as the track winds through many elevation changes\, such as the famous Dunlop Horsepower Hill and Scott Ski Jump. \nA motocross fan first and foremost\, track owner/promoter Ralph Huffman worked himself into the ownership role at the facility because of his love not only for the Washougal track itself\, but for motorcycle racing in general. \n“I got into the sport when my boys started racing flat track and motocross\,” Huffman explains. “I began to help out Clarks Branch Cycle Club in Roseburg\, Washington\, where my boys practiced frequently. I had access to equipment that could benefit the facility. From there\, I kept helping out more and more. \n“In 1980 Wally Brosamle\, the promoter for Washougal\, asked me to help out the first year they hosted an AMA Pro Motocross Championship event\,” Huffman continues. “Each year I helped out with the national. In 1985\, he sold out to Bill Cantrell and I offered to continue to help with the event.” \nBut things did not go so smoothly\, and the track was removed from the national schedule in 1987. “That’s when I stepped up to take over the facility with the help of my wife\, Carolyn.” Huffman adds. It didn’t take long for the AMA to take notice\, and in 1988\, the national returned. Since then\, the facility has boasted improvements every year. “I finally bought the facility in 1995\,” Huffman explains\, “and we’ve hosted a national every year since and look forward to many more to come.” \nTentative Amenities\n\nFree Motorcycle Parking and Gear/Helmet Check\nOpen Air Festival Seating\nInfield Track Viewing via Seven Track Tunnels\nLarge interactive Sponsor Village\nFood and Soft Drink Concessions\nOnsite Camping\nEnjoy fishing in our private stocked pond\nGrandstand Seating\nVIP Super ticket Viewing Areas with live PA feed\, live timing and scoring\, live race footage\, private restrooms\, and catering\nShaded Picnic Areas\nNearly 100% track Viewing from a variety of vantage points\nEvent Simulcast on FM Radio\nBeer Concessions\nOnsite Parking\nHandicap Parking\nRV septic pump service\n\nGeneral Information\n\nPets must be leashed at all times and remain in your camp site\nNo alcohol allowed to be brought into the park during the National event\, there will be beer concessions.\nNo firearms allowed in the park at anytime\nCash Onlyƒ‚\nNo drones allowed on property\nNo pit vehicles. SUMMARY:Pro Motocross Championship 2024 – SPRING CREEK NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Est: 1983 \nWelcome to the Spring Creek National in Millville\, MN. This legendary race marks Round seven of the 2024 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. \n\n\n\nTrack Profile\nLocated in the scenic and beautiful Mississippi River Valley along Spring Creek\, Millville\, Minnesota’s Spring Creek Motocross has some of the richest soil on the circuit. The soil is actually great for farming\, so it should come as no surprise that the facility used to be a working farm\, but the early-spring floods resulting from the snow melting in the valleys made this parcel of land particularly difficult to cultivate. So in 1967\, a man named Grant Marquardt pursued his interest in motorcycles by founding a hillclimb event here. \nMarquardt enjoyed the privilege of operating Spring Creek for eight years until he retired and sold the facility to Perry Hendricks. One of Hendricks’ first accomplishments as new owner and operator was adding the motocross track in 1976. \nWith Hendicks at the helm\, the track grew in popularity\, and in 1982 he was able to obtain a round of the now-defunct Trans-AMA Series. The following year\, he secured Spring Creek’s position as an AMA Pro Motocross Championship track. To add to the growth\, the site hosted an AMA National Hare Scrambles throughout much of the 1980s. \nIn 1987\, Spring Creek Motocross found itself with new owners\, John and Greta Martin. The Martins committed their lives to transforming the park into the race facility we know it to be today. John\, a factory off-road racer (and 1985 AMA National Hare Scrambles Champion)\, retired from his own racing career\, while Greta took leave from her beloved teaching position to work full-time on the facility. \nThe improvements they have made include a three-story starting tower with viewing platform\, a three-story building equipped with registration\, concessions\, commons area\, two levels of VIP suites\, a four-story announcing tower with spectator deck\, an enclosed two-story finish-line tower\, advanced flagger structures\, increased spectator viewing areas\, two sets of temperature-controlled\, flushing restroom stations\, and much more. Spring Creek MX Park is now one of the premier facilities on the circuit\, and it still has that amazing soil the riders love so much. \nAmenities\n\nFree Motocrycle Parking and Gear/Helmet Check\nOpen Air Festival Seating\nAir Conditioned VIP Suites with live PA feed\, live timing and scoring\, live race footage\, private restrooms\, and catering\nAir-conditioned Food and Drink Concession area with live video feed of racing\nLarge interactive Sponsor Village\nFlushing Air Conditioned Restroom facilities\nOnsite Camping\nPotable water for Camper filling\nKID ZONE with swing set\, volleyball\, four-square\, basketball court\, volleyball\, and badminton\nTrout Fishing\nSwimming\nGrandstand Seating\n(Covered) Super Ticket Viewing Area\nOpen Air Corporate Suites\nShaded Picnic Areas\nNearly 100% track Viewing from a variety of hillside vantage points\nInfield & Hillside Track Viewing via 6 Track Tunnels and a Spectator Ridge\nState-of-the-art sound system\nEvent Simulcast on FM Radio – 107.9\nBeer Concessions\nFree Parking\nOnsite Parking\nHandicap Parking\nEasy Entry/Exit\nPermanent Restroom facilities\nReserved RV spots with hook-ups – Limited Number\nRV septic pump service\nOutdoor Shower onsite\n\nGeneral Information\n\nGate A: General Admission\, Tickets\, and Camping\nGate B: VIP\, Vendors\, Staff\, Medical\, and Press\nGate D: Pro Pits\, Pro Rental cars\, Pro Motor homes & Buses\nTravel Station and Camper Services: Click here\nPets must be leashed and stay on campground side of creek.\nRentals car parking (Pros ONLY) is at Gate D\nPro Pit curfew is midnight (Pros ONLY)\nNo campfires\, but grills allowed\nNo alcohol allowed – Beer Gardens on-site\nWilll Call is located on the right when coming through the Main Entrance off highway 11.\nNo glass bottles in fan viewing areas\nNo drones or remote control aircraft permitted\nNo pets allowed in main fan areas or in Pro Paddock on Saturday.\nNo pit vehicles. SUMMARY:Pro Motocross Championship 2024 – REDBUD NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Est: 1974 \nWelcome to the beloved and legendary RedBud National in Buchanan\, MI. This legendary race will host round six of the 2024 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. \nTrack Profile\nBuchanan\, Michigan’s RedBud is the centerpiece of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. Located just above the Michigan-Indiana state line\, RedBud is among the most highly regarded motocross tracks in the world\, and every July Fourth weekend becomes one the region’s biggest events in general. Located in the beautiful rolling hills of southwestern Michigan – a state with an affinity for off-road recreational vehicle use – RedBud has bragging rights to claim the largest attendance of any U.S. motocross race\, year after year. With just the right soil mix\, plenty of room for passing\, and the biggest jump on the circuit – the infamous LaRocco’s Leap\, named after local legend Mike LaRocco – RedBud is the top motocross destination in a region that loves its motorsports. And the loyal Michigan fans’ chants of “Red Buuuuud!!!” are well-known throughout the motocross world. \nOne winter nearly forty years ago\, Valparaiso\, Indiana’s Gene Ritchie took a trip to Buchanan for a snowmobile race. He rode around the property\, imagining that a great motocross track could be carved into the hills and fields. When that property came up for sale in 1972\, Ritchie pursued his dream of creating a national-caliber motocross track. He and his wife\, Nancy\, found some willing partners and purchased the property. The Ritchies\, the Pattersons\, and the Millers built their dream track and began holding races in 1973. \nRedBud held its first AMA Motocross National in 1974\, and it was won by another local motocross star\, Hadley\, Michigan’s Mike Hartwig. The facility also hosted Trans-AMA races each fall\, often featuring battles between the world’s best rider at the time\, Roger DeCoster\, and America’s best\, Bob “Hurricane” Hannah. \nWithin a few years\, the original partners moved on and the Ritchie family relocated to Michigan to become full-time motocross promoters. Gene opened a bike shop\, Red Bud Cycle\, selling Bultacos and Maicos near the track entrance. The shop mechanic\, a local teenage MX racer\, became the centerpiece of the Friday night MX intermission shows; that teen was the late “Wheelie King”\, Doug Domokos\, who went on to set world records and wow fans around the globe with his wheelie shows and spectacular stunts. \nOther stars emerged from the RedBud amateur races\, too\, most notably Mark “The Bomber” Barnett from nearby Bridgeview\, Illinois\, Michigan’s five-time Women’s National Champ Lisa (Akin) Wagner (now on staff at RedBud)\, six-time AMA MX and SX Champ Jeff Stanton\, and of course\, today “The Rock\,” Mike LaRocco. \nGeneral Information\n\nSmall\, friendly pets are permitted in the family camping area in air conditioned RVs only. SUMMARY:Pro Motocross Championship 2024 – HIGH POINT NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Est: 1977 \nWelcome to the 47th Running of the High Point National. This year’s High Point National will serve as the fourth round of racing in the Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. \nCOME CELEBRATE FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND! \nHigh Point Raceway is home to round 4 of the prestigious 2023 Pro Motocross Championship. Nestled an hour south of Pittsburgh\, PA and 10 minutes north of Morgantown\, WV\, the High Point National is the best way to get outside and enjoy the sun\, your friends and family while watching the athletes of the most physically demanding professional action sport go bar-to-bar in intense\, dirt-slinging action that is only found on 11 of the best motocross tracks across the country. \nAlong with hosting the world’s fastest Pro Motocross racers\, the 2023 High Point National will also have an interactive Sponsor Village\, Vendor Row\, and local fare. Amateur practice is set for Friday with Amateur racing on Sunday. \nTrack Profile\nThere might not be a better place to see the grandeur of the sport of motocross on full display than Greene County’s High Point Raceway. This track weaves its way around a deep valley\, treating the riders to constant elevation changes. From the slippery off-camber corners to the high-speed runs to and from the valley floor\, no section of this track is completely flat\, which makes it a true challenging and fun racetrack. But what makes it tough for the athletes makes it great for the spectators\, because several vantage points atop the valley offer full views of the spectacle below. Further\, High Point’s jumps were engineered to sit right in front of the main spectator areas\, letting fans get close while they watch the riders go big. Some call it “moto theater” — a show filled with ups and downs\, twists and turns. \nWhere did it all start?  In the fall of 1976 brothers Jack and Carroll Holbert invited off-road pioneer Dave Coombs Sr. out to their family farm in Mt. Morris\, Pennsylvania\, to see if he wanted to build a motocross track there. High Point Raceway was founded shortly thereafter with the help in design by the visiting Maico factory team from Europe. Since then High Point has been among the pillars of American motocross\, hosting a round of the AMA Po Motocross Championship  since 1977 every year but one (2020 COVID-19)\, and countless off-road\, regional and local motocross events.  \nRoam from vantage point to vantage point around the circuit\, and experience the action from multiple areas. But no matter where you end up\, you will be able to see nearly 100% of the race action\, as High Point has a unique amphitheater design. And just as unique as the racetrack are the fans. Our fans are the best!  They are tough\, hardy and fun-spirited; they enjoy the outdoors and love their moto! High Point fans are Steeler fans\, Pirate fans\, Penguin fans\, and above all Mountaineer Fans\, which makes this southwestern Pennsylvania venue the perfect place to spend Father’s Day. \nSo take your dad to the races this summer\, and celebrate 46 years of great racing memories at High Point Raceway with a few thousand of your friends! \nAmenities\n\nOpen Air Festival Seating; Limited Bleacher Seating Available\nNearly 100% Track Viewing from a variety of vantage points\n“The Zoo” – Infield Adult Viewing Area (18+ years)\nCovered Super Ticket VIP Viewing Area with live timing and scoring\, private restrooms\, and catering.\nFREE! SUMMARY:Pro Motocross Championship 2024 – THUNDER VALLEY NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Est: 2005 \nWelcome to the 20th Annual Thunder Valley National will serve as the third round of racing for the 2024 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. \n\n\n\nTrack Profile\nPromoter David Clabaugh couldn’t have known how appropriate his track’s name would become. He knew that nearby was an NHRA drag-racing track with the same name (Thunder Valley)\, but within a few short years of the founding of the motocross track\, four-strokes took over motocross completely\, leaving a sound of thunder every time the gate dropped at the facility. \nClabaugh has been around racing since he was a child. “I’ve been racing since I was 10 years old\,” he explains. “When I got to the pro class\, I realized that it wasn’t going to last forever\, and I wanted to stay in the sport somehow\, so I decided I wanted to buy a track. Clabaugh has put his blood\, sweat\, and tears into the facility\, and the national here is seen as an example of what a world-class motocross event should look and feel like. \nI ran local races on the weekends; however\, I wanted the facility to grow\,” Clabaugh says. “I wanted an AMA Pro Motocross Championship event. In 2000\, I met MX Sports’ Tim Cotter\, and I figured the only way I was ever going to get a national was to start going to as many of them as I could and figure out how it worked. I worked on the banner crew for about two years\, just getting the inside line on how it all works. I began talking with John Ayers [also of MX Sports] about wanting a national in order to learn all sides of the sport and figure out how to promote. During this time\, I had shown interest in being a promoter\, and several people had come out to my facility to see if I was equipped to have an AMA Pro Motocross Championship event. I had made lots of upgrades to the facility with buildings\, filling in ravines\, etc. \nI heard there was going to be a spot open on the national schedule and was told that Thunder Valley was first on the list.” Truth be told\, Thunder Valley wasn’t just first on the list\, it was the best choice\, as Clabaugh and his loyal staff have proven every year since his first national\, in 2005. \nThunder Valley\, just a few miles below downtown Denver\, hosted its first AMA Pro Motocross National in July of 2005. In the first few years of racing at the facility\, riders and mechanics were met with a combination of altitude and summertime heat that not only made it physically difficult on them but caused the fuel in the motorcycles to literally boil. The solution was a revolutionary one: in 2008\, Thunder Valley hosted the first AMA Pro Motocross National ever held at night\, under a battery of lights that illuminated the valley. With a live internet and TV audience watching\, the race was a smash hit. This year\, Thunder Valley’s event will be held during the daylight hours. \nAmenities\n\nGrandstand Seating\nOpen Air Festival Seating\nCovered VIP Viewing Areas with live timing and scoring\, private restrooms\, and catering\nCovered Super Ticket Viewing Area\nOpen Air Corporate Suites\nHandicap Viewing Area\nInfield Track Viewing via Two Track Tunnels\nNearly 100% track Viewing from a variety of vantage points\nLarge interactive Sponsor Village\nFood and Soft Drink Concessions\nBeer Concessions\nState-of-the-art sound system\nEvent Simulcast on FM Radio\nBaby Changing Station\nFree & VIP paid Parking\nOnsite Parking\nMotorcycle Parking\nHandicap Parking\nEasy entry/Exit\nOnsite Camping\nReserved RV spots\nFree Motorcycle Parking and Gear/Helmet Check\nJumbotron Viewing\nAmateur Motocross Racing Sunday\n\nGeneral Information\n\nNo pit vehicles. SUMMARY:Pro Motocross Championship 2024 – HANGTOWN MOTOCROSS CLASSIC
DESCRIPTION:Est: 1974 \nWelcome to the 55th Annual Hangtown Motocross Classic in Rancho Cordova\, CA. This legendary race will serve as the second round of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. \nTrack Profile\nFounded in March 1968\, the Dirt Diggers North Motorcycle Club (DDNMC) embarked on a plan to present a motocross competition that would bring top riders to Northern California. As a result\, the Hangtown Motocross Classic was born. \nThe story actually starts in 1967\, when a group of local motorcycle enthusiasts met at Marion Pyle’s bike shop\, the Orangevale Motorcycle Center. They hoped to bring big-time motorcycle racing to the area\, and that meeting set the stage for the creation of the DDNMC. From the beginning\, the founders-Ed Clark\, Carl Cranke\, Dave Duarte\, Don Fallon\, Don Fischer\, Bill Groom\, Kurt McKimmy\, Gene Nunes\, Ray Nelson\, Bill Onga\, Joe Pyle\, and Roy Tillus-wanted to stage their own race\, and a big one at that! \nThe first DDNMC race was held at Murray’s Ranch outside of Placerville in 1969. The race took its name from the Gold Rush days\, when Placerville was known as “Hangtown.” With a turnout of about 150 sportsman riders and 30 pros\, the event (with its $600 pro purse) set the stage for Hangtown’s future. The day ended with Larry Mulock\, Gary Bailey\, and Dick Mann sharing the winner’s podium. \nDDNMC has hosted some of the wildest and most successful motorcycle events since the world of motocross came into being. However\, the old days at the Placerville sand pit are now long gone\, as are the hangovers and all-night parties. Also gone are “Bad” Brad Lackey hopping on the bulldozer to help build the track\, the Saturday-night mechanics’ races with 250cc Bultaco motors stuffed into minibike frames\, and more of the good old days. \nAll this changed when the race outgrew the sleepy hillsides of Placerville\, with its two-lane roads and the old-fashioned thinking of some local residents who didn’t like the changes brought by the races (or their thousands of spectators). So in 1979\, the Club and the Sacramento County Department of Parks and Recreation put together a permanent facility at the Prairie City OHV Park in Rancho Cordova\, near Sacramento. Eventually\, the State OHV Department took control of the park and\, in conjunction with DDNMC\, has provided permanent sprinklers\, fencing\, restrooms\, running water\, gazebos\, a state-of-the-art announcing tower\, and other facilities. \nWhile Hangtown predates the AMA Pro Motocross Championship\, a national series was the dream of the founders more than 40 years ago. The DDNMC is proud to own and produce the longest-running motocross national of all\, the Hangtown Motocross Classic. \nToday\, the Hangtown Motocross Classic is big business. Almost three dozen members meet three to four times a month to prepare for the following year’s race. Even though the club is comprised of volunteers\, the members commit to full-time work assignments to get their jobs done. In addition to the weekly meetings\, required rides\, and individual work assignments\, DDNMC members commit to a three-week period in May to take the Prairie City track from its normal state to one fit for an AMA Pro Motocross National. The club takes “possession” of the track in early May and brings together hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment to transform the track. The result is the continuation of a classic – the Hangtown Motocross Classic – at the only event on the schedule still run by a motorcycle club. \nAmenities\n\nOpen Air Festival Seating\nCovered Handicap Viewing Area\nCovered Super Ticket Seating with live timing and scoring\, private restrooms and catering available\nCovered VIP Viewing Area\nOpen Air and Covered Corporate Suites\nAir Conditioned Suites\nShaded Picnic Areas\nNearly 100% track viewing from a variety of vantage points\nInteractive Sponsor Village\nEvent Simulcast on FM Radio\nFood and Soft Drink Concessions\nBeer Concessions\nChildren’s play area\nFlushing Restroom facilities\nPermanent Restroom facilities\nBaby Changing Station\nOnsite Parking\nMotorcycle Parking\nHandicap Parking\nEasy entry/Exit\nOnsite Camping\nRV spots\nPotable water for Camper filling\nRV septic pump service\nFree Motorcycle Parking and Gear/Helmet Check\n\nGeneral Information\n\nNo drones allowed on property \nNo pit vehicles. SUMMARY:2023 Pro Motocross Championship - IRONMAN NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Est: 2014 \nWelcome to the 10th Annual Ironman National. This year’s Ironman National will serve as the season finale of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. This year’s Budds Creek National will serve as round 10 of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing\, and round 27 of the inaugural 2023 SuperMotocross (SMX) World Championship. SUMMARY:2023 Pro Motocross Championship - UNADILLA NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Est: 1972 \nWelcome to the Unadilla National in New Berlin\, NY. This year’s Unadilla National will mark round nine of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. SUMMARY:2023 Pro Motocross Championship - WASHOUGAL NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Washougal National in Washougal\, WA. This legendary race marks Round eight of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. SUMMARY:Pro Motocross Championship 2023 - SPRING CREEK NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Est: 1983 \nWelcome to the Spring Creek National in Millville\, MN. This legendary race marks Round seven of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. \nTrack Profile\nLocated in the scenic and beautiful Mississippi River Valley along Spring Creek\, Millville\, Minnesota’s Spring Creek Motocross has some of the richest soil on the circuit. SUMMARY:Pro Motocross Championship 2023 Round 5 - REDBUD NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Est: 1974 \nWelcome to the beloved and legendary RedBud National in Buchanan\, MI. This legendary race will host round five of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. Pets must stay in the RV and may not leave campsite. No pets permitted in tent camping sites or in day parking lots.\nGates closed Midnight to 6am daily – please plan accordingly.\nNo glass bottles in fan viewing areas\nNo drones or remote control aircraft permitted\nNo pets allowed in main fan areas or in Pro Paddock on Saturday.\nDo not take banners. SUMMARY:Pro Motocross Championship 2023 Round 4 - HIGH POINT NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Est: 1977 \nWelcome to the 46th Running of the High Point National. This year’s High Point National will serve as the fourth round of racing in the Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing\, and the 21st round of the inaugural 2023 SuperMotocross (SMX) World Championship. High Point fans are Steeler fans\, Pirate fans\, Penguin fans\, and above all Mountaineer Fans\, which makes this southeastern Pennsylvania venue the perfect place to spend Father’s Day. SUMMARY:Pro Motocross Championship 2023 - THUNDER VALLEY NATIONAL
DESCRIPTION:Est: 2005 \nWelcome to the 19th Annual Thunder Valley National will serve as the third round of racing for the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship\, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. \nTrack Profile\nPromoter David Clabaugh couldn’t have known how appropriate his track’s name would become.
