SUMMARY:EFC 122: The Biggest and Most Violent – Two Explosive Title Fights Set for April 10th
DESCRIPTION:EFC 122: The Biggest and Most Violent – A Night of War Awaits \n\n\n\nOn Thursday\, April 10\, 2025\, the Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) 122 promises to deliver an unforgettable night of high-octane combat at the World Sports Betting Arena in Johannesburg. Headlined by two explosive title fights\, this card is stacked with Africa’s biggest MMA stars\, making it one of the most highly anticipated events in EFC history. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMain Event: Morel vs. Moyo – A Heavyweight Clash for the Ages \n\n\n\nEFC Heavyweight Champion Anthony ‘Big’ Morel is set to make his first title defense against a true African combat sports legend\, Elvis ‘The Bomber’ Moyo. Morel\, a powerhouse from Réunion Island\, captured the title in dominant fashion last year by knocking out Englishman JoEie Houlton in the first round. \n\n\n\nHowever\, his challenger is no ordinary fighter—Moyo is a Zimbabwean boxing icon with a track record of defeating some of the toughest heavyweights in EFC history\, including Strauss\, Mbuyi\, Misholas\, Vermuelen\, and Yamdjie. Known for his iron chin and devastating punching power\, ‘The Bulawayo Bomber’ will test Morel’s limits in what promises to be a heavyweight war. \n\n\n\nCo-Main Event: Jacobs vs. Sovendle – A Battle for Bantamweight Gold \n\n\n\nTwo-time EFC Bantamweight Champion Faeez ‘Troublemaker’ Jacobs is back to defend his title against one of the most dangerous contenders in the division\, Sibusiso ‘Somandla’ Sovendle. \n\n\n\nJacobs\, a fan-favorite from Cape Town\, reclaimed his title last year at EFC 117\, defeating Vince Bembe via second-round submission. Having already avenged his past loss to Sylvester Chipfumbu\, Jacobs has proven his dominance in the 135lb division. \n\n\n\nBut standing in his way is Pretoria’s own wrecking machine\, Sovendle. Fighting out of Brothers in Arms\, the ‘Triple S’ striker has carved his way to a title shot by finishing five top-ranked opponents\, including Roevan de Beer and Ntando Zondi. With his relentless aggression and ironclad durability\, Sovendle poses the biggest threat yet to Jacobs’ reign. \n\n\n\nThe Rest of the Card: A Night of Carnage Awaits \n\n\n\nBeyond these two massive championship fights\, EFC 122 features a 12-fight lineup stacked with elite talent ready to shake the foundations of the sport. Expect knockouts\, submissions\, and all-out wars as Africa’s best fighters clash inside the cage. \n\n\n\nEFC 122 is set to be one of the most violent and unforgettable nights in African MMA history. Don’t miss it!
