DESCRIPTION:Loudenvielle – Peyragudes is the main village in the Louron Valley\, in the heart of the French Pyrenees. With its lake\, its summits\, its trails and ski resorts\, this valley remains an exceptional outdoor playground for every season of the year.  \nFor the last six years\, the mountain bike community has grown significantly\, building trails in the wild countryside. DESCRIPTION:The UCI Mountain Bike World Series Festival Haute-Savoie\, taking place in Châtel\, Les Gets and Morzine-Avoriaz\, will combine no less that 20 individual UCI Mountain Bike World Cup races alongside a 10-day festival that celebrates mountain biking within this iconic French region\, from September 7 – 17.  \nThe Festival starts in Les Gets\, where we’ll see cross-country and downhill athletes go bar-to-bar. The cross-country track has hosted some of the closest fought battles of recent seasons whilst the downhill track is one of the most heralded and fastest in the world. \nThere’s a whole festival of events running alongside the racing\, with activities both on and off the bike to keep the whole family entertained. From ride outs to autograph sessions with top athletes to film nights\, it’s going to be an action packed ten days! \nThe focus then shifts to Châtel and Morzine-Avoriaz which have long been two of Europe’s most respected mountain bike destinations thanks to their vast networks of trails which cater to pretty much every set of off-road abilities. The marathon race play out around the legendary trails in Morzine-Avoriaz whilst the Enduro stages will be anchored around the famously tough and rewarding Châtel. \nWith more than 600km of dedicated mountain bike trails and 24 lifts available\, the Portes du Soleil in Haute-Savoie is the perfect host for this exciting new festival. With an outstanding natural heritage\, Les Portes du Soleil is the spot for outdoor sports lovers. \nBetween mountain pastures\, alpine forests\, summits on the Mont-Blanc and scenery across Lake Geneva\, the Swiss Alps and the Dents du Midi\, the surroundings will amaze riders and spectators alike. \nAbout Haute-Savoie\nThe Haute-Savoie region has hosted no less than six rounds of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in the past\, as well as the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships twice in Les Gets\, most recently in August 2022. However\, the 2023 edition will be the first time the Portes du Soleil region has brought all the major mountain bike formats together in a single event. \nThis major venue will host multi-format races combined with a festival atmosphere designed to entertain fans and gather the mountain bike industry into one space. For the first time\, this will happen across back-to-back weekends. Click “here‘ to find out more. \nNowhere is West Virginia’s tagline of “Almost Heaven” more fitting than at Snowshoe Mountain. Nestled in a remote corner of Pocahontas County\, high in the Allegheny Mountains\, Snowshoe is the epicenter of the Mid-Atlantic’s mountain bike culture\, and the host of several of the most memorable races in recent World Cup history. With a picturesque mountaintop village\, a lift-serviced bike park\, pristine backcountry trail riding\, and a fast growing regional trail network\, “The Shoe” is quickly becoming an East Coast Mecca for mountain bikers.  \nThe mountain’s cycling history dates back to the mid-1980’s\, barely a decade after the resort was established as the region’s premier ski area. By the 1990’s\, NORBA events were being held on the mountain\, and by the early 2000’s Snowshoe was offering lift-access to its steep and rowdy trail system that had been cut by hand. The mountain became somewhat infamous for its technical rocks and roots\, earning it a reputation as a “hard core” rider’s mountain. \nIn recent years\, Snowshoe has added plenty of fun and flowy trails to help introduce new riders to the sport and now boasts trails for every ability level. Today\, Snowshoe is now a staple of the World Cup circuit and home to one of the East Coast’s only Silver level IMBA Ride Centers.
