SUMMARY:DarkFest 2026: 10 Years of Darkness
DESCRIPTION:The countdown is on for the 10-year anniversary of DarkFest\, returning from March 16–21\, 2026\, to celebrate a decade of gravity-defying progression\, fearless creativity\, and the raw spirit of freeride mountain biking. What began as a DIY dream to build the world’s biggest jumps has evolved into one of the most anticipated sessions on the global MTB calendar—where legends\, rising stars\, and wildcards collide on some of the most intimidating features ever shaped. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSet against the dramatic terrain of Stellenbosch\, the Hellsend Dirt Compound at Vuurberg Wine Farm will once again host the sport’s boldest riders as they attempt record-sized gaps\, towering step-ups\, and world-first tricks that continue redefining what’s possible on two wheels. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA Stacked Freeride Line-Up \n\n\n\nThis milestone edition brings together an explosive international roster\, including heavy hitters like Sam Reynolds\, Clemens Kaudela\, Matt Macduff\, Sam Hodgson\, Vero Sandler\, Paul Couderc\, Lukas Schäfer\, Theo Erlangsen\, Bienve Aguado\, Brendan Fairclough\, Graham Agassiz\, Matt Jones\, Kaos Seagrave\, Nicholi Rogatkin\, and many more pushing the limits of style and amplitude. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor founder and visionary Sam Reynolds\, the 10-year mark isn’t just about bigger jumps—it’s about nurturing the future of freeride. His Big Air Academy call-out invites unsponsored riders worldwide to submit 30–60-second edits for a chance to win a two-year pro contract with Polygon Bikes\, full gear support from iXS MTB\, and a flight plus invite to ride at DarkFest itself. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPublic Open Day: Experience the Madness \n\n\n\nFans will get their moment on Saturday\, March 21\, 2026\, when the public open day welcomes spectators to witness the spectacle firsthand. From 110-foot gaps to next-generation trick lines\, the anniversary session promises a full-throttle showcase of progression\, risk\, and celebration—capturing everything that has made DarkFest a defining force in freeride culture. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPowered by Global Partners \n\n\n\nThe 2026 edition is backed by an elite lineup of supporters\, including Monster Energy\, DEWALT\, Kenda\, Insta360\, Muc-Off\, Polygon Bikes\, Mavrix\, SPANK\, iXS\, GOSCOR\, Ford\, and Jack Black Brewing Company—underscoring the event’s global reach and cultural impact. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA Decade of Dirt\, Danger\, and Progression \n\n\n\nTen years in\, DarkFest remains more than an event—it’s a proving ground where creativity meets courage and the boundaries of freeride are relentlessly pushed forward. As riders prepare to “send it” once again in 2026\, the anniversary edition stands poised to deliver the biggest moments in the festival’s history and cement its legacy as the ultimate celebration of big-air mountain biking.
