South African motocross rider Tristan Purdon had an eventful week of racing, sharing his experiences in a recent vlog. His journey took him from a Wednesday night race in Wales to the Fastest 40 event on Saturday at Brookthorpe.

Wednesday Night Racing in Wales

Purdon’s week started with a challenging trip to Monster Mountain for a Wednesday night race. The journey began at 5 AM, but car troubles and a van going into limp mode set them back. To make matters worse, an accidental filling of 95 octane in a diesel tank caused further delays. Despite these setbacks, Purdon and his team managed to arrive at the track just 30 minutes before free practice.

The day at Monster Mountain turned out to be quite eventful. Purdon shared that the footage from the race was not the best due to the stressful journey. However, he managed to showcase some of the highlights of his day, including moments where he got stuck behind other racers but still managed to push through.

In qualifying, he secured P1, which boosted his confidence. However, the actual races were tough. In the first race, he had a good start but was eventually passed by competitors Tommy and Conrad. The sun’s glare made visibility difficult, impacting his performance. Despite starting in 11th place, Purdon charged through the pack to finish second.

Fastest 40 at Brookthorpe

After the race in Wales, Purdon headed to Brookthorpe for the Fox Fastest 40 event. The weather wasn’t favorable, with rain making the track conditions challenging. Despite the wet and muddy conditions, Purdon was determined to make the most of the race.

The second race was equally challenging, with the track conditions deteriorating. Purdon noted that the track was like concrete on the bottom, making it difficult to navigate. He managed to secure P7 in qualifying but faced difficulties during the race, including getting stuck and dealing with the muddy conditions.

Reflecting on the Week

Purdon ended the vlog reflecting on his performance. He was pleased with securing P1 in qualifying and finishing second in both races, despite the challenging conditions. He mentioned his struggles with the sun in the first race and the muddy conditions in the second but remained positive about his overall performance.

Purdon’s vlog provided a glimpse into the life of a professional motocross racer, highlighting the challenges and triumphs that come with the sport. As he looks forward to his next race at Fox Hills, fans can expect more thrilling updates from this talented rider.

Stay tuned for more from Tristan Purdon as he continues to tackle the racing season with determination and skill.
