Southside Crew Launches Mzansi Speedway with Adrenaline-Fueled “¼ Mile Nation” Drag Racing Event

Motorsport enthusiasts, mark your calendars! Southside Crew is set to ignite the tarmac with the thrilling ¼ Mile Nation drag racing event, taking place on Sunday, 8 June 2025, from 10am until late. This high-octane showdown also marks the official venue launch of the all-new Mzansi Speedway, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to street-legal motorsport culture in South Africa.

Designed for new-gen software downpipe street cars, the event promises a full day of heads-up racing on a prepped quarter-mile strip, with race fuel available on-site courtesy of Fast Fuels.

Event Highlights:

• Street Cars Only (No cars quicker than 10 seconds)
• Street Tyres or Semi-Slicks Only (Full slicks not permitted)
• No Prep Racing
• Timing Included
• Helmet, Long Pants & Closed Shoes Mandatory
• No Trailer Cars – All vehicles must drive to the venue
• No Driver Swapping
• Entry Fee: R700 Includes Day License

Marshals will pair vehicles based on time ranges, ensuring fair and exciting matchups. Only street-legal vehicles running between 10 and 13 seconds are eligible, and trailer cars will be denied entry.
