EFC 127 Preview: 1 Belt, 1 Rivalry, 1 Champion
Africa’s MMA scene is set for one of the most explosive showdowns in recent history. At EFC 127, Elvis Moyo, ‘The Bulawayo Bomber,’ will defend his hard-earned heavyweight title for the first time, facing a formidable opponent with a personal vendetta—former champion Matunga ‘HHH’ Djikasa.
Moyo’s journey to the belt has been long and storied. Eleven years in the EFC heavyweight division, countless victories, and memorable performances against top contenders like Ceronio, Mbuyi, Tiny, The Apocalypse, and Vermeulen cemented his place as one of Africa’s finest. His path, however, has not been without setbacks, including a tough loss to UFC-bound Vanderaa. But persistence paid off on 10 April 2025, when Moyo defeated Reunion Islands’ Anthony Morel in a fourth-round stoppage, sparking a three-day celebration in Bulawayo.
Now, the stakes are higher than ever. Djikasa, a Congolese kickboxing powerhouse, defeated Moyo’s friend and training partner Vandam Mbuyi at EFC 98, claiming the belt and igniting a bitter rivalry with Moyo. After vacating the title to compete internationally, Djikasa returns with one goal: to reclaim what he believes is rightfully his.
On Thursday, 11 September 2025, at the World Sports Betting Arena in Johannesburg, two giants will clash in a battle fueled by pride, revenge, and ambition. Moyo’s gold, Djikasa’s fury, and the anticipation of fans across Africa promise an MMA event that will be talked about for years.
This is more than a fight—it’s a defining moment in African MMA history. Don’t miss the drama, the power, and the action at EFC 127: Moyo vs Djikasa.
