After electrifying qualifiers in Cape Town, Durban, and Pretoria, the moment South Africa’s streetball community has been waiting for is finally here. The Red Bull Half Court South Africa National Final will take place on Saturday, 13 September 2025 at Wits University in Johannesburg, bringing together the country’s top 3-on-3 basketball talent for an all-out battle for national glory.
The stakes are high: one men’s team and one women’s team will earn the right to represent South Africa on the global stage at the Red Bull Half Court World Final in Dubai this November.
South Africa’s Best Rise to the Challenge
Over the past two months, elite streetball teams from Cape Town (12 July), Durban (26 July), and Pretoria (23 August) have fought hard in fast-paced qualifiers, each powered by unmatched energy and flair. Now, the strongest contenders will face off in Joburg for the title of national champions.
This final showdown will be more than just a tournament – it’s a celebration of South African streetball culture, creativity, and resilience.
What Makes Red Bull Half Court Different?
Red Bull Half Court is not your typical 3-on-3 competition. It’s the world’s fastest streetball tournament, amplified by its signature “Own the Court” rule, which allows teams to advance not only by winning but by scoring the most cumulative points in their group.
This rule has made every round more intense and every basket more meaningful – and the national final promises to be the fiercest yet.
Johannesburg’s Court, Global Dreams
Hosted at the iconic Wits University, the National Final will showcase South Africa’s streetball scene at its best – bold, raw, and unapologetically real. Fans can expect high-energy matchups, loud crowds, live music, and street culture in full effect.
Backed by global partners Fila and Spalding, and guided by the presence of elite shooting coach Chris “Lethal Shooter” Matthews, this final will also be broadcast and amplified by 5FM, the official event media partner.
Who Will Represent Mzansi in Dubai?
With teams from over 20 countries taking part globally, the World Final in Dubai will be the ultimate test of creativity, speed, and teamwork. But first, South Africa must choose its champions.
