Tata’s Birthday Celebration Brings Spinning to Life

October 4 @ 11:00 am – 10:00 pm

South Africa’s spinning scene is preparing for another loud and colourful gathering as Tata’s Birthday Celebration takes over Wheelz N Smoke on Sunday, 4 October 2026.

Presented by Wheelz N Smoke, the celebration brings together a sizeable collection of spinning names, crews and custom-built machines for a day built around cars, smoke, personality and community.

With gates opening at 11:00, the event is positioned as more than a birthday party. It is a gathering point for a culture where the car is both machine and identity.

Where Cars Become Part of the Culture

Spinning has developed its own language in South Africa.

The cars, wheel choices, liveries, crew names and driving styles all contribute to an environment where individuality matters as much as performance. At events like Tata’s Birthday Celebration, spectators don’t simply arrive to watch cars move sideways—they arrive to see the people and communities behind them.

The event features an extensive lineup of drivers and crews, including Katra, Iki, Shazo, Jay F, Prince, Panjaro, Austin, Sgora and Sunesh, alongside Teka Famba, Unknown, Vaatjie, Mnandi Soweto, Sonny Boy and Team Rara.

The list continues with Lay Lay, Team Bokkie, Team EBR, Golly Mzet, Sparky, Team Tish, Leng, Switch, Tino, Dallas, Skopas, Papa Smurf, Pillarsoul, Team K1 and Lady P.

That breadth is significant because it reflects the collective nature of the scene. Different drivers and crews bring their own cars, styles and supporters, turning the event into a meeting point for multiple parts of the spinning community.

Smoke, Steel and Spectacle

Visually, the event promises exactly what spinning audiences expect: modified cars, tyre smoke, aggressive styling and drivers putting their machines through their paces.

A Full Day for the Spinning Community

Tata’s Birthday Celebration also highlights the social side of the scene.

The event brings together drivers, crews, families and spectators, with admission set at R120 for adults and R80 for children under 12. That pricing makes the gathering accessible to a wider audience while keeping the focus firmly on the spectacle taking place on the day.

On 4 October, the spotlight will be on the drivers, their machines and the culture built around them.

For anyone following the local spinning movement, Tata’s Birthday Celebration offers another opportunity to see that culture in motion—literally.
