The sell-out sensation of South African motorsport is back — bigger, louder, and more electrifying than ever. The Volkswagen Amarok King of the Whip 2025 returns on 29 November at Montecasino, promising an adrenaline-charged evening where South Africa’s top riders go head-to-head with the world’s best in Best Whip and FMX Best Trick contests.
Presented by LW Mag in association with Monster Energy, Yamaha, Garmin, Motul, GoPro, Fox Racing, and Estrella Cerveza, this unmissable event guarantees massive airtime, jaw-dropping tricks, and unmatched energy. King of the Whip 2025 is set to be the ultimate showdown of style, skill, and fearlessness.
An Action-Packed Schedule
Doors open at 2:30PM, with fans invited to enjoy the “Pit Walk” and meet the riders. VIP and VVIP ticket holders get early access at 1PM for an official rider meet-and-greet, offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience.
The action officially kicks off at 4PM, building up to the Finals under the night sky, complete with pyrotechnic displays to match the intensity of the competition.
Riders will battle through Best Whip qualifying rounds, with judges scoring based on style, amplitude, and variation. The FMX Best Trick contests — featuring both upright and inverted categories — will keep the excitement peaking before the grand finale. Competitors will vie for a cash prize purse and exclusive rewards from event partners.
Riders to Watch
After dominating last year’s event and clinching his second X-Games Best Whip gold medal, Belgium’s Julien Vanstippen returns to defend his crown as the undisputed King of the Whip. But the question remains — can anyone dethrone him this year?
Vicki Golden, one of the most celebrated names in action sports, will make her King of the Whip debut, bringing her fearless energy to both the Best Whip and Best Trick categories.
Australia’s Pat Bowden, known for his explosive FMX Best Trick performances, will also return to push the limits once again. On the home front, South African FMX star Dallan Goldman and 2024’s top-ranked Motocross rider Dalton Venter will represent local pride among a stacked lineup of national and international contenders.
