World’s Elite MTB Riders Set for Red Bull Hardline Tasmania 2026

February 7 February 8

The world’s top mountain bikers are gearing up for one of the most extreme tests in downhill racing as Red Bull Hardline Tasmania returns to Maydena Bike Park on 7–8 February 2026. Now in its third edition, the Tasmanian stop promises to be even gnarlier, thanks to a redesigned top section, a star-studded rider roster, and the legendary brutality that Hardline has become famous for.

The Toughest Course on the Planet Just Got Tougher

Known worldwide as the most challenging downhill race ever built, Red Bull Hardline blends high-speed descents, massive 10m+ drops, and savage technical terrain. The 3.4km course pushes speeds of 60km/h, demanding precision, control, and pure fearlessness.

For 2026, course builders at Maydena Bike Park have reworked the upper section, adding fresh features that raise the difficulty level yet again. The original course took over 7,500 hours to build, and with new additions for 2026, riders are in for the most punishing and spectacular version yet.

Simon French, course designer and the visionary behind Maydena Bike Park, explains:

“On the edge of Tasmania’s Southwest Wilderness, Maydena Bike Park has provided a perfect canvas for developing a course befitting of the Red Bull Hardline legacy. Using nearly 600m of vertical elevation, the course takes in a huge diversity of forest types, terrain and trail features.”

Champions Return, Rivalries Ignite

The 2026 lineup features 22 of the world’s best male and female riders, including returning champions and rising stars ready to leave their mark.

Key Riders to Watch

  • Jackson Goldstone (CAN) — Back to defend his crown after a massive redemption run in 2025.
  • Gracey Hemstreet (CAN) — The first-ever women’s Hardline champion, returning to cement her legacy.
  • Asa Vermette (USA) — The 18-year-old phenom and reigning Hardline Wales champion.
  • Louise Ferguson (SCO) — The first woman to complete a full Hardline Wales top-to-bottom and qualify for the final.
  • Troy Brosnan (AUS), Sam Hill (AUS), Bernard Kerr (GBR), Gee Atherton (GBR) — Heavy hitters bringing years of World Cup and Hardline experience.

This year marks the 12th anniversary of Red Bull Hardline, which began in Wales in 2014, and the Tasmanian edition is set to offer one of the most unmissable showdowns in its history.
