The 2022 ULT.X Action Sports Festival powered by Suzuki SA and fuelled by Monster Energy saw over 60 top Skate and BMX athletes gather at Sun City over the weekend to compete for top honours in the African Champs.

The BMX contest had a huge contingency of international riders competing and produced one of the most insane finals we’ve witnessed in recent times. South Africa’s Vincent Leygonie unfortunately didn’t qualify through to the finals but still produced a decent run that saw him take home the Local Hero award.

France’s Istvan Caillet was consistent with runs featuring huge tricks pulled throughout the park that put him into 3rd place overall.

The American, Pat Casey, is always a top step contender and his flawless runs had him scoring high enough for 2nd place.

In the end it was Mexico’s Kevin Peraza who’s first run (of two) was stacked with technical tricks and brilliant use of the park to claim 1st place.

Kieran Reilly’s Alley-oop Triple Tailwhip transfer was awarded the Best Trick of the contest.
