In a night of intense racing and unpredictable wet conditions, Team Honda HRC Progressive’s Jett Lawrence secured his first win of the season at the Anaheim 2 Supercross, thrilling fans inside Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. The reigning Monster Energy AMA Supercross and SMX World Champion showcased his skill and patience, emerging victorious in a dramatic main event that saw four to five riders battling fiercely for the lead.

Ken Roczen of Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki claimed second place after a thrilling duel, marking his return as the points leader for the first time since 2022. Monster Energy Kawasaki‘s Jason Anderson led the race for eight laps and settled for third, showing grit in the challenging conditions. Pre-race points leader and fan favorite Eli Tomac of Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing fought his way from a near-last start to a seventh-place finish.

“You have to be very patient [racing in those conditions]. Jason was riding really well, and I was struggling to find anywhere to gain on him or try to make a pass. Lap by lap I just hit my marks. There was the rain, my goggles were fogging up a little bit, but we’re happy to get that [win].”

Roczen described the night as “an absolute dream,” highlighting the intensity of the race and his delight at sharing the red plate with Tomac.
“This was an absolutely insane race. With the rain and how hardpacked the dirt was, it was very slippery out there, but I just kept my focus the whole way,”.

In the Western Regional 250SX Class, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Haiden Deegan delivered a dominant performance, grabbing the holeshot and riding to an unchallenged victory. Deegan displayed poise and determination, pulling away from the field and navigating through challenging wet conditions.
“You pissed off the bull last week. Juju ran his mouth, so it’s time to lock in… keep talking and I’ll come out swinging.”

Julien Beaumer and Cole Davies Shine
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing‘s Julien Beaumer fought hard for second place, acknowledging Deegan’s dominance.
“Hats off to him, he was the better man tonight. That was a sick race, so I’m stoked.”

The Anaheim 2 Supercross attracted a host of celebrities, including Red Bull F1 driver Liam Lawson, NASCAR drivers Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Riley Herbst, LA Dodgers pitcher Landon Knack, and entertainers Jay Mohr and Nathan Kress. The evening also featured a live performance by musicians Jason Bonham, Jagger Bonham, and Blake Redferrin.

The unique track layout included two back-to-back whoop sections, allowing for a ‘whoop test’ that compared different track-building techniques.

Championship Standings and What’s Next
The Anaheim 2 Supercross added valuable points to the 17-round Monster Energy AMA Supercross season and the 31-round SMX World Championship.
