Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Cooper Webb held off fierce pressure to claim his fifth win of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship in Pittsburgh, reclaiming the points lead with just two rounds remaining. After a 42-year absence from Pittsburgh, Supercross returned in spectacular fashion to Acrisure Stadium, delivering epic racing and thrilling Pennsylvania fans.

In the 450SX Class, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Chase Sexton shadowed Webb for nearly the entire race, mounting two serious challenges. Despite a mid-race bobble that sent Sexton off track, he kept the pressure on but couldn’t make a pass stick. Webb, who led every lap after grabbing the holeshot, managed to withstand the heat and cross the finish line first, halting Sexton’s recent momentum and putting himself in prime position to clinch the championship.

Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Justin Cooper backed up his heat race win by landing his second podium finish of the season, solidifying third place after a strong ride despite admitting struggles with adapting to the track’s challenging layout.
Cooper Webb Reflects on a Gritty Win
“[I felt] a little bit of everything, man. It’s been a heck of a fight, and a rough two weeks, especially last week. It was much needed tonight. We were going for it — if I made one little mistake, I knew he [Sexton] was going to get me. I’m stoked for myself and my team. We made a bike change this week that was awesome.”

Tom Vialle Wins 250SX and Retakes Points Lead
The Eastern Divisional 250SX Class kept fans on the edge of their seats. Defending champion Tom Vialle delivered a clutch performance, taking the lead in the final moments to capture his first win of the 2025 season. With the victory, Vialle reclaimed the points lead heading into the final showdown in Salt Lake City.

Vialle’s charge came after a major crash during practice earlier in the day, showing resilience and race craft under pressure. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Nate Thrasher led most of the main event but settled for second after a costly late-race mistake. Maximus Vohland earned a career-first podium in third, impressively overcoming a recent foot injury that forced him to adapt his bike with a hand brake.
Tom Vialle’s Post-Race Reaction
“Coming into this round I pretty much had to win. And I delivered tonight so that feels really good. This one feels good, and I’m lucky to have the chance to fight for the title in Salt Lake City.”
