The 2025 Red Bull Rampage, the world’s premier big-mountain freeride competition, witnessed a new champion rise from the Utah desert as 22-year-old Canadian rookie Hayden Zablotny soared to victory on Sunday, 19 October. Known for pushing creativity, control, and courage to their limits, Red Bull Rampage once again delivered heart-stopping action across its rugged sandstone cliffs.

After crashing in his first run, Zablotny returned to the start gate unfazed and delivered an explosive second run that earned him 96.00 points and a place in the event’s history books as the first rookie winner since Brandon Semenuk. His line began with a technical double drop off the start platform, followed by two 360 Flatspins, a Flat Drop Backflip, Suicide No-Hander, and an Opposite 360 Flatspin to close. The judges rewarded both his precision and originality, and his dig team also took home the Digger Award for their exceptional build.

Trailing close behind, Belgium’s Thomas Genon claimed second place with 94.35 points — his first-ever Rampage podium after 12 attempts — while fellow Canadian Tom Van Steenbergen finished third on 94.00, thrilling fans with his signature Caveman Drop.

“I just wanted to build something that showcased my riding style and something I’d be stoked on,”.

said Zablotny after his win, embodying the creative spirit that defines Red Bull Rampage

The 2025 edition marked the 19th Red Bull Rampage since its debut in 2001, reaffirming its reputation as the pinnacle of freeride mountain biking. Riders spent days carving their own lines with hand tools, blending artistry, athleticism, and sheer nerve across near-vertical cliffs and massive natural gaps.
