Cole Davies Crowned 250 East Champion as Roczen Seizes 450SMX Lead in Philadelphia
The 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship delivered yet another dramatic chapter at Round 15 in Philadelphia, where unpredictable weather conditions turned Lincoln Financial Field into a brutal test of skill, patience, and survival.
With intermittent rain transforming the track into one of the toughest of the season, both championship battles took decisive turns in front of a resilient East Coast crowd.

250SMX East: Cole Davies Secures Maiden Title
In a race defined by chaos and changing conditions, 18-year-old New Zealander Cole Davies rose above it all to clinch the Eastern Divisional 250SMX Class Championship in style.

The shortened 12-minute-plus-one-lap Main Event began with Seth Hammaker grabbing the holeshot in front of his home crowd, with Davies close behind. However, disaster struck early for Hammaker as he crashed, dropping to the back of the field and handing Davies an opportunity to take control.

After briefly losing the lead and even going down himself, Davies showed remarkable composure. Following a red flag and staggered restart, he regained the lead and never looked back. Riding with precision on the treacherous surface, Davies pulled away to secure a dominant win by 12.9 seconds over Daxton Bennick.

Hammaker mounted an impressive comeback to third but needed second place to keep his title hopes alive. A late crash ended those chances, handing Davies the championship one round early.

The victory marked Davies’ fifth win of the season and a historic milestone as he became only the second New Zealander to win a Supercross title, joining mentor Ben Townley. His triumph also secured a clean sweep of the 250SMX divisions for Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, alongside Western Division champion Haiden Deegan.

450SMX Class: Roczen Takes Control of Title Fight
The 450SMX Class delivered a high-stakes showdown between championship contenders Ken Roczen, Hunter Lawrence, and Cooper Webb in a shortened 17-minute Main Event.
Lawrence grabbed the holeshot and initially led the field, but Roczen quickly made his move, charging from third to first within the opening laps. The trio broke away early, setting the stage for a tense battle.

Lawrence applied pressure but suffered a costly crash midway through the race, dropping to third and effectively ending his challenge for the win. Roczen capitalized, managing the race expertly despite heavy lapped traffic and difficult conditions.
Webb mounted a late charge and closed in during the final laps, but Roczen held firm under pressure to secure his fifth win of the season by 2.4 seconds.

Lawrence salvaged third, limiting the damage after his fall, but the result saw Roczen take over the championship lead for the first time in the latter half of the season.
With just two rounds remaining, Roczen now holds a four-point advantage over Lawrence, while Webb remains mathematically in contention, 24 points behind.
