Swatch Nines Bike 2026 Delivers an Unforgettable New Era

Swatch Nines Bike 2026 has once again proven why it remains one of the world’s most innovative action sports events, bringing together mountain biking and BMX for an unforgettable week of progression, creativity, and camaraderie in the stunning Austrian Alps.

The release of the event’s 19-minute official highlight reel captures the incredible riding, groundbreaking tricks, and unforgettable moments that unfolded at Bike Republic Sölden, where two disciplines came together to create one of the most exciting editions in Swatch Nines history.

BMX Makes a Historic Swatch Nines Debut

For the first time ever, BMX riders joined their MTB counterparts at Swatch Nines, creating an atmosphere unlike anything seen before.

Led by BMX icon Kevin Peraza alongside renowned park builder Jason Watts, the BMX crew wasted no time showcasing their talent on the custom-built course.

Among the standout performers were Sasha Cambon, Perris Benegas, Kilian Roth, and Esme Morris, while wildcard rider Dean Florian delivered one of the week’s most memorable performances.

The successful integration of BMX into Swatch Nines exceeded expectations and marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the event.

As Kevin Peraza summed it up:

“This is just the beginning.”

Mountain Bike Stars Continue to Raise the Standard

While BMX made headlines, the mountain bike athletes continued to redefine what’s possible.

The women’s field delivered one of the week’s biggest milestones as Kirsten Van Horne and Veronique Sandler became the first riders ever to link the massive freeride jumps from top to bottom.

Meanwhile, experienced Swatch Nines veterans including Tim Bringer, Tomas Lemoine, Peter Kaiser, and Bienvenido Aguado thrilled spectators with their world-class riding across the entire course.

The future of mountain biking also looked brighter than ever thanks to emerging stars Finley Kirschenmann, Harry Schofield, and impressive 11-year-old sensation Weston Lukens, who all showcased remarkable confidence and skill throughout the week.

Different Disciplines, One Shared Passion

Swatch Nines has always been about more than competition.

Without contest pressure, athletes are free to experiment, collaborate, and push each other’s limits in an environment built around progression rather than podium finishes.

That philosophy was perfectly reflected throughout the week as BMX and MTB riders inspired one another with new tricks, shared sessions, and a mutual passion for action sports.

The result was one of the most creative editions in the event’s history.

Athletes Praise the Unique Swatch Nines Experience

The unique atmosphere left a lasting impression on everyone involved.

German BMX rider Paul Thölen said:

“I love this event. Everyone is having a good time, pushing and cheering each other, no matter if you ride mountain bikes or BMX, or if you skate or ski or surf. The discipline doesn’t matter. It’s such a unique concept of an event. Seeing the other riders focusing on their missions and push through is so inspiring. And it makes me ride better too.”

Veteran photographer George Marshall, who has spent two decades documenting BMX and mountain biking, was equally impressed.

“I’ve been photographing BMX and bikes for 20 years, and I have never seen anyone go as high with the standard of riding as I did this week. I’m blown away. The standard of riding is so much higher than what you see in the Olympics, because here there’s no pressure of the contest. The riders can take risks, and crash and it’s fine. It’s a jam.”

American mountain biker Christian Arehardt highlighted how BMX elevated the event even further.

“Nines Bike this year was unbelievable. The addition of BMX into the mix kept the energy high. The mixing of the MTB and BMX cultures was a much-needed complement to an already legendary event. Best week of the year!”

New Zealand freerider Kirsten Van Horne reflected on finally becoming part of the event she had admired for years.

“Thank you so so much for the incredible week! I can’t believe how much riding we got in and how much fun we had! It’s been a dream to be a part of this event for years and I can’t thank you enough. I will 1000% be keen for next year and look forward to keep progressing the sport with the gals!”

What’s Next for Swatch Nines?

Following the success of Bike 2026, Swatch Nines now turns its attention to its next major event as Swatch Nines Skate & Surf returns to Waco Surf for its third edition.

Fans can expect more rider announcements, exclusive behind-the-scenes content, and spectacular highlights as the event takes place from 8–10 October.

If Swatch Nines Bike 2026 proved anything, it’s that bringing together different disciplines under one vision creates unforgettable moments—and this year’s spectacular highlight reel is all the proof fans need.
