Herlings and Farres Shine as Foxhills Returns to MXGP
The legendary Foxhills Moto Parc made a spectacular return to the FIM Motocross World Championship calendar after a 26-year absence, delivering an unforgettable weekend of racing at the Monster Energy MXGP of Great Britain. Thousands of passionate fans packed the famous valley as riders tackled the circuit’s demanding steep climbs, descents and perfectly prepared hardpack surface.
The return of Foxhills produced thrilling battles in both the MXGP and MX2 classes, while dramatic championship swings ensured the title race tightened heading into next weekend’s MXGP of Czech Republic in Loket.

Herlings Delivers Perfect MXGP Performance
Honda HRC Petronas star Jeffrey Herlings enjoyed one of his finest weekends of the 2026 season, securing a flawless 1-1 performance to claim his sixth Grand Prix victory of the year and the 118th GP win of his remarkable career.
Herlings also collected two Fox Holeshot Awards, leading every lap across both races to complete one of the most dominant performances of the season.

Defending World Champion Romain Febvre continued his impressive recent form with second overall for Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP, while Tim Gajser ended a three-month podium drought by finishing third overall after showing excellent speed throughout the weekend.
Behind the leading trio, Ruben Fernandez finished fourth overall ahead of Andrea Adamo.

Championship Battle Intensifies
The biggest story in MXGP came from championship leader Lucas Coenen.
The Belgian entered the weekend carrying the red plate but struggled with a leg injury sustained earlier in the event. Despite attempting to race both motos, Coenen was forced to retire from each race in visible pain without scoring points.

His difficult weekend allowed Herlings to slash the championship deficit dramatically.

Farres Extends Incredible MX2 Run
Triumph Racing Factory Team’s Guillem Farres continued his sensational form by claiming his third consecutive Grand Prix victory with another perfect 1-1 performance.
The Spaniard was once again unbeatable on Sunday, collecting maximum points while displaying impressive pace and consistency throughout both motos.

Simon Längenfelder pushed Farres throughout the opening race before securing second overall for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing.
South African star Camden McLellan completed the podium in third overall after another consistent performance for Triumph Racing Factory Team, strengthening his position inside the championship’s top four.

Red Plate Changes Hands
The MX2 championship also witnessed a major shake-up.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Sacha Coenen bravely raced despite carrying a painful collarbone injury, recovering to eighth overall after difficult races.

However, the limited points haul proved costly as Farres took over the championship lead for the first time this season.

Reflecting on his podium finish, McLellan said he was pleased with his pace despite not getting the starts he wanted.
All Eyes on Loket
With championship momentum shifting dramatically in both classes, the 2026 MXGP season has become even more unpredictable.
Herlings has reignited the MXGP title battle by closing within 11 points of Lucas Coenen, while Farres now carries the MX2 red plate after extending his remarkable winning streak.
As the championship heads to the iconic Loket circuit in the Czech Republic next weekend, both title fights promise another thrilling chapter in what is shaping up to be one of the most competitive MXGP seasons in recent memory.
