Two intriguing bouts have been added to an EFC 105 card that continues to overflow with menace and drama. The destructive Congolese powerhouse Mark ‘Batolo Bacharge’ Kamba makes his welcome return to the EFC Performance Institute in a must-win scrap against Mamelodi’s very own ‘Bonecracker’, Given Majuba. What makes this bout appointment viewing is that every single victory on these athletes’ combined records came in the first round. Kamba put both Elvis Ngwalangwala and Tyron Bester to sleep with his hellacious fists and Majuba did the same against Qaasim Coetzee as well as a fearsome anaconda choke against Angelo Foloti. With Batolo Bacharge now dropping 15 pounds to mix it up with the welters, Majuba will be hoping to send the Mother City-based headhunter back to the middleweight division with another furiously entertaining performance. But Kamba is a dangerous counter-puncher with nasty timing off the back foot and is well-prepared to send the entire roster of his new division a violent burn notice with his superior firepower!
Zimbabwean featherweight Guide Moyo exploded onto the professional MMA scene with three devastating back-to-back finishes in the Hexagon by pounding his opponents through the canvas, mostly in the first round. Called the ‘Rubberman’ because of his pythonesque flexibility and slithering submissions, it is paradoxically his fists that have proven to thrill the fans. After recent losses to two championship contenders, Moyo now looks to reset against boxing stalwart Lecture Gumbi. An amateur champion in two different weight divisions before a highly successful transition to MMA, Gumbi has been working with EFC veteran Roderique Kena at Raw Combination in Johannesburg where he hopes to build upon his debut victory, a highly-contentious and drama-filled win over David Mambo last month.
