Today eight world-class breakers battled their way to the Red Bull BC One 2023 World Final after an intensive four-hour final qualifier, with France’s own b-boy Khalil and b-girl Stefani from the UK being crowned Red Bull BC One Last Chance Cypher Winners. The four b-boys and four b-girls who will take to the World Final stage on Saturday 21 October feature a mix of local and international talent, plus some Red Bull BC One Final alumni ready to take home the title this year.

The Red Bull BC One World Final is not short of Japanese talent, with b-girl Jasmin becoming the third Japanese b-girl finalist after tonight’s success. Local French dancers, B-girl Kimie and B-boy Khalil, will represent the host country, alongside wildcards Dany Dann and Syssy. We’ll also see Brazilian B-girl Toquinha and B-boys Amaro (Italy) and Mighty Jake (Venezuela) have their first shot at the title, competing against a number of experienced dancers with a couple of Red Bull BC One Final appearances under their belt.

“I’m super happy to win tonight’s Last Chance Cypher and make it to the Red Bull BC One World Final in my own country – I plan to keep the trophy at home. Tonight, I felt a lot of love from the crowd and expect the same, maybe even more, at Stade Roland Garros on Saturday.”

“The b-girl competition was not easy tonight, I really wasn’t expecting a win, but I am so proud of myself. Last time I made it to a Red Bull BC One World Final two years ago it didn’t work out, but this time I’m giving my all to win.”

The UK’s B-girl Stefani who returns a second year after advancing in the Red Bull BC One Last Chance Cypher in 2021 commented,

The Red Bull BC One Last Chance Cypher is the final competition on the road to the Red Bull BC One World Final and was today held at the Centquatre-Paris, where 55 b-boys and b-girls from 28 countries put their skills to the test to be in with a chance of making it to the World Final stage.

The four b-boys and four b-girls who impressed tonight’s judges will join 24 Wildcard dancers to make up the Top 16 B-Boy and Top 16 B-Girl World Final line-up. Those one step closer to taking home the overall win include b-boys Khalil (France), Amaro (Italy), Kid Colombia (Netherlands) and Mighty Jake (Venezuela); as well as b-girls Stefani (UK), Yasmin (Japan), Kimie (France), and Toquinha (Brazil).

There’s less than 48 hours to go until 32 b-boys and b-girls go head-to-head at the iconic Stade Roland-Garros, testing their endurance, style and technique to claim the title of Red Bull BC One World Champions. The event is making its return to the city of lights for the third time, ahead of an unforgettable moment for breaking in Paris next summer.

For this year’s Red Bull BC One World Final, MC Amjad from Switzerland and US rapper and songwriter MyVerse will host the evening’s action, with a soundtrack provided by France’s own DJ One Up.
