Intense Competition and Results

The Thule Slopestyle was intense, making it challenging for the judges, who, for the first time ever, were all former Crankworx athletes.

Dawid Godziek had to give it his all in the second run after crashing in the first. A combination of tricks, including a ‘Frontflip Bar Spin to Tuck No Hander on Double Truck Driver Off’, a ‘Twister No Hander’, and a ‘Triple Tailwhip’, scored him 96.75 points.

Tim Bringer followed closely in second place, just 1.13 points behind Godziek, and 0.27 points ahead of third-placed Emil Johansson.

Local hero Erik Fedko from Germany secured his invitation to the season’s grand finale at Crankworx Whistler, Red Bull Joyride, with a fourth-place finish.

Highlights and Notable Performances

Dawid Godziek made it two wins in a row, claiming victory in Sunday’s slopestyle event at Crankworx Innsbruck, while Sweden’s Emil Johansson was pushed down into third by French rider Timothé Bringer.

Despite damp conditions due to rain in the weeks leading up to the event, the weather improved, and the competition began in bright sunshine.

Johansson delivered a technical first run that scored 95.25, leading at the halfway stage.

Godziek moved into the lead with a precise and high-amplitude second run, scoring 96.75.

Bringer delighted the crowd with a score of 95.62, securing second place.

Johansson’s final run was compromised by a difficult landing, allowing Godziek to celebrate a second consecutive Crankworx victory.

Quotes and Reflections

“After the crash in the first run I was under a bit less pressure. I just wanted to make it to the bottom but the judges liked my run so I am super stoked. I am focused now on doing my best performance in Whistler and I will see what that brings.”

Godziek, 29, commented:

In the women’s event, Robin Goomes set the standard with an impressive score of 94.5, remaining unbeatable despite strong performances from her competitors.

Sweden’s Alma Wiggberg secured second place with 89.75, while US rider Shealen Reno grabbed third with 86.5.
