The 2024 Motosport.com Washougal National saw Chase Sexton continue his dominant form in the 450 Class, while Haiden Deegan showcased his prowess in the 250 Class.

450 Class Moto 1:

The opening moto of the 450 Class witnessed intense competition. With a little more than 10 minutes remaining, Sexton maneuvered into third place behind Cooper and Lawrence. However, Lawrence went down, losing three positions and remounting in fifth. Sexton inherited second place and set his sights on closing a five-second gap to his teammate Plessinger. Cooper settled into third, with Anderson in fifth.

As the clock ticked down, Sexton halved the deficit, but Plessinger responded with his fastest laps of the moto. Sexton relentlessly increased his pace, closing the gap to less than a second with three laps remaining. Plessinger’s brief stall allowed Sexton to slip past and secure the lead, ultimately winning by 5.3 seconds. Plessinger and Cooper rounded out the top three, with Anderson and Lawrence completing the top five.

450 Class Moto 2:

The decisive second moto saw Cooper take the holeshot, followed by Lawrence and Anderson. Sexton positioned himself in fourth, while Plessinger started in fifth. Anderson quickly surged to the front, with Sexton making his way to third past Cooper. As the race progressed, Sexton applied pressure on Lawrence and eventually passed him, setting his sights on Anderson.

Sexton’s relentless pace saw him close in on Anderson, and with just over eight minutes remaining, he secured the lead. Anderson stayed close for a few laps but couldn’t keep up, allowing Sexton to win by 13 seconds. Plessinger finished third, securing his second overall position.

Overall 450 Class Results:

  1. Chase Sexton (1-1): Sexton’s 1-1 performance marked his fourth consecutive overall win of the season, extending his lead in the standings.
  2. Aaron Plessinger (2-3): Plessinger equaled his career-best result.
  3. Jason Anderson (4-2): Anderson achieved his best result of the season, finishing third overall.

250 Class Moto 1:

In the 250 Class, Vialle and Deegan battled side-by-side, with Vialle narrowly securing the holeshot. A mistake by Deegan allowed DiFrancesco to take second, but Deegan quickly regained the position. Vialle maintained a steady lead, finishing first by 11.3 seconds over Deegan, with Shimoda in third.

250 Class Moto 2:

The final moto mirrored the first, with Vialle and Deegan leading the pack. Deegan made a decisive pass to take the lead, securing his seventh moto victory of the season by 14 seconds. Vialle finished second, and Shimoda completed the podium.

Overall 250 Class Results:

  1. Haiden Deegan (2-1): Deegan’s performance secured his fifth overall win of the season.
  2. Tom Vialle (1-2): Vialle returned to the podium after a two-round absence.
  3. Jo Shimoda (3-3): Shimoda’s consistency earned him a podium finish.
