The 2024 SuperMotocross World Championship reached a thrilling conclusion at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on 21 September, with an epic showdown between two brothers, Jett and Hunter Lawrence. Jett Lawrence of Team Honda HRC Progressive emerged victorious, claiming his second consecutive SuperMotocross World Championship title and the massive $1 million prize. His older brother Hunter Lawrence battled him to the finish line, ultimately taking second place in both the race and the championship, along with a $500,000 payday.

The final race format involved two 20-minute-plus-one-lap motos, and Jett’s strong (1-1) finishes secured him the crown. Hunter’s (3-2) moto results placed him second, while Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac completed the podium with solid (2-3) rides, earning third overall in the event and $250,000 in the championship. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Chase Sexton, who had been in championship contention, saw his night end early after a collision on the first lap of the opening moto, eliminating his title hopes.

In the 250SMX Class, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Haiden Deegan successfully defended his title, clinching the 250 SuperMotocross World Championship for the second year in a row. Though Troy Lee Designs Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing’s Pierce Brown took the overall win in Las Vegas with impressive (2-1) moto finishes, Deegan’s second-place overall finish with (1-2) results earned him the championship and another $500,000 prize. Brown’s victory catapulted him to third in the overall championship standings, while Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tom Vialle settled for second in the championship after a difficult second moto.
