Track Day Chaos: S2000 Meet and Type R Track Attack

1 Mins read

After the casual cruise around Johannesburg, it was time for Tony & Chase, a local YouTuber and JDM fanatic, to switch gears—literally. CHASE Hopping into his Civic Type R FN2, he made his way to Zwartkops Raceway for a no-holds-barred track session. The transition between the S2000 and the FN2 sparked reflections on the visceral rawness of the S2000 compared to the daily usability of the Type R.

The track action didn’t disappoint. Spectators were treated to high-revving Honda engines, tight cornering, and adrenaline-filled duels with other performance cars. However, the day took an unexpected twist when a passenger fainted during a particularly aggressive lap. While no injuries occurred, the incident underscored the sheer G-forces and intensity of the track session.

“We killed two Hondas with one stone—cruising with the S2Ks in the morning and pushing the Type R to its limits in the afternoon.”

Chase summed up the day’s highlights with a cheeky quip:

From the vibrant community of Honda lovers to the competitive spirit on the track, this event reaffirmed why JDM culture remains a cornerstone of automotive passion.
