Three years ago, South African extreme sports athlete Graham Howes made a daring attempt to kite loop over a plane flying at 200 kph. With no budget or sponsors, the challenge pushed the boundaries of kiteboarding and showcased his determination to combine adrenaline-fueled stunts with raising awareness for mental health. Although the attempt ended in failure, it left an indelible mark on the extreme sports community.
Fast forward to today, and the dream has been realized—this time by Howes’ friend, Lasse Walker, who successfully jumped over a plane in a historic feat. Supported by Red Bull and executed with precision and innovation, Walker’s achievement is a testament to what’s possible when passion meets opportunity.
Reflecting on his own experience, Howes shared his journey on the Dirty Habits YouTube channel, emphasizing the importance of perseverance.
“It’s incredible what’s possible when you chase a dream, no matter the challenges. I did this to raise awareness for mental health, and as someone who struggles with depression, ADHD, and epilepsy, I hope it inspires others facing their own battles to chase their dreams,”.
