Cameron Durow Overcomes Injury to Secure MX1 & MX2 Victories

Despite a tough off-season due to an ACL reconstruction in October, Cameron Durow stunned the competition by winning both MX1 and MX2 overall.

“It was a tough day yesterday. I had to dig deep to bring home both overalls. I came into this round with no expectations after the off-season I’ve had. Moto 1 felt like I had been thrown in the deep end—so many big mistakes, and my riding was so tense. I regrouped for Moto 2, started to relax, and finally found my flow.”

– Cameron Durow

With his double championship title from 2024, Durow already has a target on his back this season. Riders like Jayden Proctor (Yamaha), Slade Smith (Honda), and Mark Carty are determined to challenge him, but Durow’s resilience and skill proved too strong in the opening round.

Luke Grundy Claims First MX2 Moto Win but Battles Back from a Crash

Luke Grundy experienced a rollercoaster of emotions in MX2. He secured his first-ever MX2 moto win in the opening race, only to suffer a brutal crash in the second heat. Despite this, he fought his way back to P5, securing P2 overall.

“A day to remember but also one to forget. Claiming my first-ever MX2 moto win has left me hungry for more. Moto 2 was really late in the day, and the glare was brutal. I got a fourth-place start, but on lap one, I dragged my footpegs up one of the jump ruts, sending me over the bars. I got up quickly, nearly last, and fought my way back to fifth, which was enough to secure second overall.”

– Luke Grundy

His performance proves he’s a serious contender for the MX2 title in 2025.

Trey Cox Dominates High School Class & Impresses in MX2 Debut

Rising star Trey Cox delivered a perfect 1-1 finish in the High School class, showcasing his potential as one of South Africa’s brightest young motocross talents.

“What a day! Super stoked to walk away with the 1-1. Just have to work on my starts, coming from 15th every start is hard work.”

– Trey Cox

Cox also made his MX2 debut, finishing P5 overall, proving he’s ready to challenge for podiums in the pro ranks.
