The X Games Osaka 2025 kicked off with a thrilling Day 1 at the Kyocera Dome in Japan, launching the first leg of back-to-back X Games events. Featuring six adrenaline-fueled finals, the day was marked by teenage dominance, first-time wins, and unforgettable home-soil performances from Japanโ€™s top action sports athletes.

Womenโ€™s Skateboard Vert: Arisa Trew Makes History

Opening the day on International Go Skateboarding Day, Womenโ€™s Skateboard Vert made its Japanese debut. All eyes were on Arisa Trew, who delivered a near-flawless second run to secure her third consecutive Vert gold with a score of 86.77. Her victory ties her with Leticia Bufoni for the most X Games womenโ€™s skateboard gold medals at six.

Japanโ€™s own Asahi Kaihara and Juno Matsuoka earned silver and bronze, giving the home crowd much to celebrate.

BMX Park: Rim Nakamura Takes First Gold on Home Soil

Kyotoโ€™s Rim Nakamura ignited the dome with a commanding performance in BMX Park, landing technical combos like a tailwhip catch tailwhip and 720. His gold marks the first-ever Japanese BMX gold medal at X Games, a triumph over defending champion Marcus Christopher (USA), who settled for silver. Franceโ€™s Anthony Jeanjean rounded out the podium with his first X Games medal.

Womenโ€™s Skateboard Street: Chloe Covell Dominates

At just 15, Chloe Covell from Australia continues to make history, grabbing her third X Games gold in Womenโ€™s Street with a 90.00 first run. Her standout trick? A kickflip manual on a 36-foot plexiglass roof that wowed the Osaka crowd.

Japanโ€™s Miyu Ito stayed consistent with another silver, while Ibuki Matsumoto, a 13-year-old late entrant, earned a surprise bronze.

Menโ€™s Skateboard Vert: Gui Khury Extends His Legacy

Brazilโ€™s Gui Khury proved unstoppable again, earning his sixth X Games gold and twelfth overall medalโ€”all before turning 18. His run featured a 900, kickflip Indy 540, and an Indy 720, further cementing his place among X Games legends. JD Sanchez of Hawaii scored silver, with Tom Schaar securing bronze.

BMX Park Best Trick: R Willy Returns to the Top

Ryan โ€œR Willyโ€ Williams threw down a never-been-done frontflip flair tailwhip to win his ninth gold in the Dave Mirra Best Trick contest. Fellow Aussie Logan Martin earned his first medal in this discipline with silver, and Mexicoโ€™s Kevin Peraza claimed bronze with a flair tailwhip to fakie.

Moto X Best Trick: Aussie Domination Continues

Australians continued their Moto X dominance with Rob Adelberg earning his ninth X Games gold for a polished front flip variation. Jackson โ€œJackoโ€ Strong secured silver, and Benny Richards, the youngest in the field, took bronzeโ€”his first X Games medal.
