The 2025 Pro Motocross Championship hit its halfway point with the iconic Honda RedBud National in Buchanan, Michigan, celebrating America’s Independence Day with an action-packed race weekend. As Race 6 of the summer season and Round 23 of the SMX World Championship, the event saw standout performances from Honda HRC Progressive riders in both classes.

Jett Lawrence overcame a massive early setback to sweep both 450 motos for his sixth consecutive overall victory, while Jo Shimoda delivered a flawless 1-1 sweep in the 250 Class to cap a dominant day for Honda at its title-sponsored event.
450 Class: Jett Lawrence’s Heroic Ride Sparks Sixth Straight Win
In Moto 1, Hunter Lawrence grabbed the holeshot and battled with RJ Hampshire before Jett Lawrence charged from third to take the lead after a fierce sibling duel. Jett’s pace was unmatched as he pulled away for a 16.1-second victory, with Hunter finishing second and Hampshire earning his first career 450 podium in third.

Moto 2 brought drama as Jett Lawrence crashed early and dropped to 18th. Undeterred, the Australian put in one of his most stunning rides ever, slicing through the pack to take the lead with less than five minutes to go. He passed 17 riders to complete the moto sweep, winning by over eight seconds.

His 16th career 1-1 finish tied Ken Roczen for sixth all-time in wins (21) and pushed his season-long winning streak to six.

In the 250 Class, Jo Shimoda was unstoppable. He overcame early pressure in Moto 1 to pass Tom Vialle for the lead and held off a late charge from Levi Kitchen for his first moto win since 2024. Haiden Deegan had a challenging outing, finishing 14th after a crash and mechanical issues.

Shimoda was again dominant in Moto 2, battling past early leader Jalek Swoll before pulling away for a 17.7-second victory, his second career 1-1 sweep. Deegan salvaged second after charging through the field, while Swoll landed his first podium since 2023.
