No stranger to pushing the limits of what’s possible, Scottish BMX rider Kriss Kyle has once again etched his name into extreme sports history. In his latest jaw-dropping project, Kyle faced down the Red Bull RB7, Sebastian Vettel’s 2011 Formula 1 championship-winning car, and leapt clean over it in a feat that combined precision engineering with world-class bike control.

The stunt saw Kyle launching himself over the F1 car as it hurtled towards him, using a custom-built kicker designed by Red Bull Advanced Technologies. The setup required meticulous calculations, perfect timing, and a level of composure that only a rider of Kyle’s calibre could maintain.

A Career Built on Defying Gravity
Kriss Kyle has been riding BMX since the age of 10, growing up in Stranraer, Scotland, and building a reputation as one of the most exciting and inventive riders in the world. Known for his energetic style and creative approach, Kyle has produced a series of unforgettable video edits, including:
- Drop In to Dubai – a high-adrenaline ride through iconic cityscapes.
- Kaleidoscope – a mind-bending display of technical riding and visual artistry.
- Out of Season – an MTB-focused project showcasing his versatility on two wheels.

In 2023, Kyle quite literally took BMX to new heights when he tethered a carbon fibre BMX bowl to the underside of a hot air balloon and rode his bike 2,000ft (610m) in the sky — an achievement that stunned both fans and the cycling community.

The Fear and the Focus
Speaking on the F1 jump, Kyle admitted the challenge was unlike anything he had faced before:
“It was one of the scariest things that I have ever done! Hearing and seeing the car come hurtling towards me was crazy but I just had to clear my mind and concentrate on what I needed to do to make it over. It has been a dream come true to achieve this feat.”
With this stunt, Kyle once again proves that BMX is more than just a sport — it’s an evolving art form where creativity, courage, and technical mastery collide.
