The 2025 Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, came to an exciting conclusion on a warm afternoon in Southern Maryland as Budds Creek Motocross Park hosted the 11th and final round of the summer season, doubling as the 28th and final round of the SMX World Championship regular season.
The Yamaha Racing Budds Creek National Finals not only locked in the field for the upcoming SMX Playoffs but also crowned a 250 Class Champion. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Haiden Deegan delivered a dominant outing to secure the Gary Jones Cup for the second straight season. Meanwhile, Honda HRC Progressive’s Jett Lawrence, with the 450 Class championship already in hand, capped off his title-winning campaign with his ninth victory of the season.

Moto 1
Jett Lawrence powered to the holeshot but was quickly challenged by Justin Cooper. The Honda rider soon reclaimed the lead and built a five-second cushion, while RJ Hampshire pressured Cooper for second. In the closing minutes, lapped traffic made things tense, and Hunter Lawrence joined the fight. A last-lap charge saw Hunter take third behind Cooper, while Jett claimed his 16th moto win of 2025.

Moto 2
This time Hunter Lawrence took the holeshot and held strong despite Jett’s early pressure. The elder Lawrence stretched his lead to nearly 10 seconds by the checkers for his second moto win of the season. Hampshire moved past Cooper late to secure third.

Jett Lawrence’s 1-2 scores gave him his ninth overall win of the season, with Hunter second and Cooper third. The Lawrence brothers also made history as the first siblings to finish 1-2 in the 450 Championship standings.

Moto 1
Red Bull KTM’s Tom Vialle grabbed the holeshot twice due to a restart but crashed out of the lead. Rookie Cole Davies briefly led before Haiden Deegan and Jo Shimoda battled to the front. Deegan took command and built a strong lead, but post-race penalties for red-cross flag violations dropped both him and Shimoda one spot each. Davies was awarded his first career moto win, with Deegan second and Shimoda third.

Moto 2
