South Africa’s rising spinning star Kayla Oliphant is set to make a special cameo appearance in the upcoming season of Spinners, the award-winning CANAL+ and Showmax co-production that has taken African storytelling to global heights.
Oliphant, widely celebrated as one of the country’s top female spinners, has made waves both on the tarmac and on television. She was recently featured in the National Geographic series David Blaine: Do Not Attempt, where her skill and fearlessness captured international attention.
In Spinners Season 2, Oliphant brings her real-life spinning expertise to the screen, further grounding the show’s raw, adrenaline-fueled authenticity. She also worked as Chelsea Thomas’s stunt double, adding another layer of realism to the series’ breathtaking car sequences.
The new season continues the journey of Ethan and his crew as they navigate fame, love, and the dangerous underworld of street spinning. With a gripping storyline and a blend of drama, action, and heart, Spinners has become one of Africa’s most celebrated TV exports — winning Best Foreign TV Series at the Shanghai International TV Festival’s Magnolia Awards and earning multiple accolades at Dakar Series and the SAFTAs.
Kayla Oliphant’s cameo marks a proud moment for South African motorsport culture and female representation in extreme performance arts. Her inclusion in Spinners Season 2 reflects the show’s commitment to authenticity, diversity, and elevating local talent onto the global stage.
Spinners Season 2 will premiere in 2026 on CANAL+, Showmax, and DStv, with STUDIOCANAL handling international distribution.
