Red Bull Rampage 2025: Event Highlights & Rolling Coverage
Keep up to speed and follow all the latest Red Bull Rampage 2025 updates as we head toward the two-day showdown in Virgin, Utah, between October 16–18.

The 2025 edition marks the 19th running of Red Bull Rampage, one of the most iconic and demanding freeride mountain bike events in the world. Set in the rugged desert landscape of Virgin, Southwest Utah, this year’s Rampage will once again push the limits of creativity, courage, and skill.

Women’s & Men’s Competitions
On Thursday, 16 October, the world’s top female freeride mountain bikers will return for their second-ever Red Bull Rampage, aiming to cement their legacy in the sport’s history. Two days later, on Saturday, 18 October, the men’s competition takes center stage, with riders tackling some of the steepest and most technical terrain on Earth for the coveted Rampage trophy.

What Makes Red Bull Rampage Unique
Unlike traditional races, Red Bull Rampage is not about speed. Riders descend from the mountain’s summit along self-built lines, showcasing creativity, precision, and boldness. Competitors and their two-digger teams spend several days crafting lines that combine massive drops, exposed ridges, and technical trick zones.

Each rider gets two judged runs, with scores based on style, difficulty, and execution. The athlete with the highest score wins — and if a tie occurs, the combined total of both runs determines the victor.

As an invite-only event, the top 10 finishers from the previous year are automatically qualified, while additional spots go to wildcard riders selected by a committee of former competitors, judges, and industry experts.

Venues & Digging Highlights
Two legendary sites will host this year’s Rampage action:
- The men return to the 2021 venue — a natural amphitheater of steep, raw rock faces. Veteran rider Carson Storch calls it “some of the coolest terrain out of any venue,” praising its steep and exposed features.
- The women compete at the 2014–15 site, previously home to Red Bull Formation (2019, 2022). “The terrain is spacious and full of creative possibilities,” says Hannah Bergemann, one of the sport’s trailblazers.
“Doing the prep work, visualizing, and sending it felt amazing. Now I just need more practice and a few more hits before finals.”
Bergemann shared her mindset ahead of competition:

“We trained every morning for two months. I’m excited to see if the work pays off.”
Meanwhile, 23-year-old Utah native Jaxson Riddle gears up for his Rampage debut:

“I changed the middle section of my old line to keep things fresh. The top and bottom worked great before, but I wanted to challenge myself with something new.”
Also returning is Belgian freeride veteran Thomas Genon, marking his 12th Rampage appearance:
