Swatch Nines Bike 2026: MTB and BMX Unite in Sölden

2 Mins read

The countdown is on for one of the most exciting action sports events of the year. With just one week to go, Swatch Nines Bike 2026 is set to transform Bike Republic Sölden, Austria, into a playground where mountain biking and BMX collide in spectacular fashion.

Running from June 15-20, 2026, the renowned event will make history by welcoming BMX as a core discipline alongside MTB for the very first time. Known for pushing the boundaries of course design and rider creativity, Swatch Nines is once again raising the bar with a groundbreaking venue built to inspire both communities.

Free Public Viewing and Night Show Experience

Fans will have the opportunity to witness the action up close during the event’s free Public Days on June 18 and June 20. Spectators can enjoy world-class riding on a one-of-a-kind course, with shuttle bus services operating from Innsbruck, Munich, and the Allgäu region to make access easier than ever.

One of the highlights of the week will be the legendary Public Night Show on June 18, featuring smoke effects, glow tubes, and high-energy nighttime riding that has become a signature Swatch Nines experience.

A Course Designed for Creativity

Swatch Nines has built its reputation on innovative venues, and the 2026 setup may be its most ambitious yet. Existing MTB freeride and slopestyle lines have been adapted to accommodate BMX riders, creating seamless opportunities for both disciplines to explore the course.

A fan-favorite satellite feature returns, while a massive skate plaza—the largest ever built for a Nines event—adds another layer of creativity and progression. The result is a dynamic environment where riders can blend dirt, wood, technical skill, and imagination.

Built by Riders, for Riders

The course was shaped through a collaborative workshop featuring leading athletes and course builder Sam Hodgson. BMX star Kevin Peraza, MTB icons Sam Pilgrim, Erik Fedko, Johanna Nussbaumer, and BMX rider George Ntavoutian all contributed ideas that helped bring the unique setup to life.

Hodgson described the project as a dream come true, highlighting the excitement of welcoming BMX riders to the event and seeing how they interpret the versatile course design.

Star-Studded Athlete Lineup

The inaugural BMX presence at Swatch Nines is led by American legend Kevin Peraza, alongside top names including Kriss Kyle, Perris Benegas, George Ntavoutian, and Boyd Hilder.

The MTB roster is equally impressive, featuring riders such as Erik Fedko, Dawid Godziek, Szymon Godziek, Patricia Druwen, and Veronique Sandler. More than 60 athletes from 14 countries are expected to take part in this landmark edition of the event.

Become A Nine Winners Earn Their Spot

Four emerging talents secured coveted invitations through the Become A Nine video contest. Jana Noemi, Dan Paley, Esme Morris, and Dean Florian impressed judges with their submissions and will now join some of the world’s best riders in Sölden.

A Historic Week for Action Sports

Swatch Nines Bike 2026 promises to be a defining moment for both MTB and BMX. By bringing together two passionate communities on a purpose-built course, the event is set to deliver unforgettable riding, groundbreaking tricks, and a glimpse into the future of action sports progression.

With free public access, an elite rider lineup, and a course unlike any other, all eyes will be on Sölden from June 15-20 as MTB and BMX come together under one banner.
