X Games has announced the sale of two of its flagship clubs, XC Los Angeles and XC Park City, to prominent private equity investor Allen Thorpe through his firm, Pipedream Capital. The move marks another significant milestone in the development of the MoonPay X Games League (XGL), the world’s first team-based action sports league.
The transaction underscores growing confidence in the future of the XGL as it prepares for its highly anticipated inaugural Summer Season. Financial advisory services for the deal were provided exclusively by Moelis & Co LLC.
“The investment in two X Games Clubs is a powerful validation of the vision we have for the future of action sports. We’re creating permanent teams, season-long storylines, stronger opportunities for athletes, and deeper connections with fans. Allen immediately understood that opportunity, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the X Games family.”
said Jeremy Bloom, CEO of X Games
Thorpe believes the new league structure has the potential to redefine ownership in action sports.
“X Games has an incredible brand at the intersection of sport, culture, entertainment, and youth engagement. The MoonPay X Games League creates an entirely new category of sports ownership. As a native Californian and 20-year Park City resident, I’m especially excited to build championship organizations in both Los Angeles and Park City.”

Los Angeles Positioned as a Flagship Summer Club
Los Angeles remains one of the most influential action sports markets globally and is set to host the 2028 Olympic Games. The city is home to XC Los Angeles, one of the cornerstone clubs in the XGL Summer Season.
The club is led by General Manager Sharalee “Haze” Hazen and boasts a diverse roster of elite international athletes. Among its standout competitors are Olympic medalist Tom Schaar and rising Australian sensation Mia Kretzer, who at just 11 years old has already attracted global attention within the action sports community.
Park City to Anchor Future Winter Competition
Meanwhile, XC Park City is poised to become a major force in winter action sports. Located in one of the world’s premier ski and snowboard destinations, the club will serve as a cornerstone of the XGL Winter Season beginning in 2027.
Park City’s reputation as a global winter sports hub is expected to grow further as the region prepares to host events associated with the 2034 Winter Olympics.
A New Era for Action Sports
The announcement highlights the growing momentum behind the MoonPay X Games League, which is introducing a groundbreaking model for action sports. Unlike traditional competition formats, the XGL will feature permanent clubs, athlete contracts, team ownership structures, season-long competition, and enhanced fan engagement opportunities across both summer and winter disciplines.
The inaugural XGL Summer Season begins on June 26 in Sacramento before moving to Chiba, Japan, and concluding with the Championship event in New Orleans in July.
With additional club ownership announcements expected in the coming months, X Games continues to build excitement around a league that could reshape the future of action sports competition and fandom.
As the countdown to the first XGL season continues, the sale of XC Los Angeles and XC Park City represents another major step in transforming X Games from a collection of events into a fully-fledged global sports league.
