3 Mins read

Jeffrey Herlings and Guillem Farres strengthened their grip on the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship after standout victories at the MXGP of Czech Republic in Loket. Under scorching summer conditions and in front of passionate fans, both riders delivered performances that could prove decisive in their championship campaigns.

The iconic Loketske Serpentiny circuit once again produced spectacular racing on its slick hardpack surface, rewarding precision and consistency throughout an action-packed weekend.

Herlings Claims Perfect Weekend and Championship Lead

Jeffrey Herlings enjoyed his most complete weekend of the season aboard the Honda HRC Petronas machine, dominating every session before completing a flawless 1-1 victory for his 119th career Grand Prix win.

The Dutch legend also equalled the Loket victory record with his fourth overall triumph at the Czech venue, joining Joel Smets, Stefan Everts and Antonio Cairoli in the history books.

His teammate Tom Vialle returned to the podium for the first time since Trentino with an impressive second overall, while Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP’s Romain Febvre recovered brilliantly from adversity to secure his fourth consecutive podium finish.

Race One

Vialle grabbed the Fox Holeshot Award before Herlings quickly moved into the lead on lap two and immediately established control of the race.

Febvre climbed through the field after an average start, eventually passing Vialle to finish second, while Andrea Adamo crossed the line fourth ahead of Ruben Fernandez.

Herlings claimed his ninth race victory of the season by more than 18 seconds.

Race Two

Jeremy Seewer surprised everyone with the holeshot before Vialle took over, but Herlings wasted little time moving into the lead.

Behind him, Febvre produced one of the rides of the weekend after first-lap incidents dropped him deep in the pack. The Frenchman charged through the field to finish fifth, earning enough points to secure third overall.

Herlings remained untouchable to complete a perfect 1-1-1 weekend and extend his remarkable record.

Farres Continues Winning Streak in MX2

Triumph Racing Factory’s Guillem Farres continued his outstanding season by securing a fourth consecutive Grand Prix victory.

Although his streak of seven straight race wins ended after Liam Everts won Race Two, Farres’ consistency delivered another overall victory and increased his championship advantage.

South Africa‘s Camden McLellan produced another superb performance to finish second overall, completing a Triumph 1-2, while Latvia’s Karlis Reisulis celebrated his maiden MX2 Grand Prix podium with third overall.

Race One

Sacha Coenen claimed the holeshot before Janis Reisulis briefly took control of the race.

Farres steadily worked his way forward before taking the lead on lap nine. McLellan charged from outside the top five and closed dramatically on his teammate in the final corners.

A last-corner challenge resulted in slight contact, sending McLellan to the ground while Farres stayed upright to secure his seventh consecutive Sunday race victory.

Race Two

Liam Everts bounced back from a difficult opening race with an inspired ride to secure his first race victory of the season.

Farres finished second after another determined ride, while Karlis Reisulis completed the podium ahead of McLellan.

McLellan’s fourth-place finish proved enough to secure second overall for the Grand Prix, continuing his impressive championship campaign.

MX2 Overall Results

  2. Camden McLellan (Triumph) – 40 pts
  3. Karlis Reisulis (Yamaha) – 38 pts

MX2 Championship Standings

Looking Ahead

With Loket complete, the championship heads straight to one of the toughest tests on the calendar—the legendary deep sand of Lommel in Belgium.

Herlings arrives carrying the MXGP red plate and overwhelming momentum, while Farres will aim to continue his remarkable winning run despite facing a surface that traditionally produces unpredictable results. Meanwhile, South African star Camden McLellan will look to convert his growing speed into his first MX2 Grand Prix victory as the championship battle intensifies.
