Red Bull District Ride Makes History in Groningen
Red Bull District Ride 2026 delivered one of the most memorable editions in the event’s history as Alma Wiggberg claimed the inaugural women’s title and Tim Bringer secured the men’s crown in an action-packed urban slopestyle showdown in Groningen, Netherlands.
Held on 25 July, the legendary competition made its Dutch debut while introducing its first-ever official women’s competition, marking a major milestone for slopestyle mountain biking. As one of the most prestigious stops on the FMB World Tour Diamond calendar and part of the Slopestyle Super League, the event carried significant championship implications while showcasing the world’s best riders on a spectacular custom-built city course.

A New Chapter for Red Bull District Ride
Known for transforming city streets into world-class mountain bike playgrounds, Red Bull District Ride once again pushed the limits of urban slopestyle. Groningen’s historic Grote Markt became the backdrop for an incredible one-day contest featuring enormous jumps, technical park features and creative line choices.
The purpose-built course was divided into three challenging sections:
- Big Air featuring a towering 15.5-metre roof drop.
- Park with technical trick combinations and flow lines.
- Dual where riders selected their own creative routes through wallrides, whale tails and technical obstacles.

Designed by Desmond Tessemaker alongside the competing riders, the course took four months to plan before being constructed in just four days, turning the city centre into one of the toughest slopestyle venues of the season.
Alma Wiggberg Claims Historic First Women’s Title

Her consistent performances across all three sections highlighted another dominant display during a remarkable season in which she has remained unbeaten.
