South Africa’s street-dance crews have until 5 November to submit their entries for the 2026 Red Bull Mzansi Crew Battle, with the competition heading towards a Gauteng Qualifier and national final in Johannesburg on 14 and 15 November.
The competition celebrates local dance culture, bringing together styles such as amapiano, pantsula and sbujwa in a contest where creativity, execution, individual expression and teamwork all count.
Two dancers, one national title
The 2025 champions, Crazy Destroyers, proved that a crew does not need a big line-up to make a big impression. The two-member team, featuring Slick Nation and Tsebetsa Boy from Soshanguve and Mabopane, defeated True Skhanda Movers in the final at Constitution Hill last December.
Reflecting on the victory ahead of the 2026 competition, Tsebetsa Boy said the win felt like a dream and that the crew planned to return with more energy, new creative styles and vibes.
With the defending champions preparing to return, the challenge is now on for crews across the country to show what they can bring to the floor.

- 1 November: Shakers and Movers Dance Academy
- 7 November: Mario Gomes Hip Hop Dance Academy
The sessions will feature dancers and choreographers The Ninjas, Kananelo, Tebza and Tlhogi, alongside the defending champions, Crazy Destroyers.

What does it take to win?
The 2025 competition featured three rounds: a choreographed showcase, freestyle battles set to local hits, and a 50/50 round in which the losing crew forfeited half its members.
Judging considered creativity, execution, style and crowd connection, with audience voting also playing a role.
The first edition, held in 2024, was won by Untouchable Entertainment. Crazy Destroyers claimed the title in 2025, setting up another contest in which crew size alone will not determine the outcome.
For the dancers preparing to enter, the objective is clear: bring an original routine, deliver under pressure and make every move count.
