For a quarter of a century, Red Bull Rampage has stood as freeride mountain biking’s ultimate test of courage, creativity and commitment. This October, the world’s most iconic big mountain event returns to Utah’s towering desert cliffs to celebrate 25 years of redefining what is possible on two wheels.
The landmark edition will once again feature both women’s and men’s competitions, with the women dropping in on Thursday, October 8, before the men take on the mountain on Saturday, October 10. A Legacy Built on Courage
When the first riders rolled into Utah in 2001, there were no established trails or perfectly shaped jumps waiting for them.
There was only raw terrain, endless imagination and athletes willing to gamble everything in pursuit of something that had never been done before.
That fearless spirit still defines Rampage today.

Unlike traditional downhill races, competitors don’t simply follow a marked course. Every rider spends days scouting the mountainside before designing and building a completely unique line through massive cliffs, exposed ridges and towering drops.
Every run is as much an engineering project as it is an athletic performance.
The result is a competition where creativity is rewarded just as much as technical skill.
More Than a Competition
Over the past 25 years, Red Bull Rampage has transformed from an experimental event into freeride mountain biking’s biggest stage.
Its influence stretches far beyond Utah.

The tricks, bike setups, riding styles and line choices first seen at Rampage have inspired riders across every continent. Bike parks, freeride festivals and local trail builders continue to borrow ideas first pioneered on these legendary desert cliffs.
For riders chasing progression, Rampage remains the benchmark.
Every edition raises expectations, pushing athletes to imagine bigger features, cleaner tricks and more technical lines than ever before.

History Continues to Be Written
Since its debut, Red Bull Rampage has hosted 19 editions and crowned 11 different champions, proving just how difficult it is to conquer the mountain.
Last year’s event welcomed a new men’s champion as Canadian rider Hayden Zablotny stunned the field by winning on his Rampage debut.

Meanwhile, New Zealand‘s Robin Goomes strengthened her growing legacy by securing her second consecutive women’s title, confirming herself as one of freeride’s dominant forces.
With the 20th official edition taking place in 2026, another chapter of mountain biking history is ready to unfold.
Every rider arriving in Utah knows that a winning run at Rampage can define an entire career.

Why It Matters Beyond Utah
The significance of Red Bull Rampage reaches well beyond North America.
Across South Africa, freeride and gravity riding continue to grow through local bike parks, mountain communities and riders eager to test themselves against increasingly technical terrain.
While few landscapes match Utah’s dramatic sandstone cliffs, the event continues to inspire riders to think differently about line choice, trail building and progression.

Its legacy reminds every mountain biker that innovation often begins with imagination—and the courage to commit.
As the world’s best freeriders prepare to carve fresh lines into one of the most intimidating landscapes in action sports, fans can expect another unforgettable showcase of skill, style and fearless progression.
